Westbourne Pre-School

We had a fun and exciting experience at the Tropical Butterfly House and Wildlife Centre on Friday 21st June! We got to see a lively family of Meerkats and Porcupines, talk to some very chatty Parrots, Macaws and Lorikeets and at the end we were able to see (and hold) some exotic Butterflies, Bugs and a baby African cobra. We even had a chance to meet some very old Dinosaurs and Tortoises. It was a very adventurous day!

Pre-School and Reception had a fantastic first Thursday session at Forest School last week, they can't wait for this week's session with Mr Magenty!

Hooray for Easter Day! What an amazing time Pre-School and Reception had today on our Easter Egg Hunt! We hunted for eggs outside, made chocolate shredded wheat nests, animal masks and crosses to celebrate the Easter story. We looked at the different symbols of Easter and what Easter means to us. Everyone enjoyed finding a creme egg, yummy!

We are so excited for our Easter Egg Hunt today! All the children and staff are very excited! It is all based on the story we have been learning about called 'We're going on an Easter Egg Hunt' by Laura Hughes.

The dinosaurs have come to visit Pre-School! They are looking forward to doing lots of playing on Monday!

Happy World Book Day! The children in Pre-School and Reception dressed up as their favourite book character today and they all looked amazing! As a Whole School we are looking at the story 'Tuesday' by David Wiesner and all our teachers are dressed as frogs! 🐸📗

What an exciting morning!! Pre-school have really enjoyed a walk down to the botanical gardens to watch the Mi Amigo memorial fly-past over Endcliffe park. The children commented on how super fast the planes were flying and how noisy they were!

So far this week we have been looking at how people celebrate Chinese New Year. We have been making money envelopes and chinese dragons. We have also learned to dance like a dragon!

Pre-School and Reception enjoyed going on the bus today as part of our spring topic on transport. We have been reading and enjoying the book 'The Naughty Bus'.

We're going on a Santa Hunt...come and join us! Westbourne Foundation Stage is excited to present our Christmas Open Morning. We invite all parents and children to follow our clues, meet Santa and join in crafts and singing! Come along and see our brilliant facilities and talk with the Early Years team, we can't wait for some festive fun and to welcome everyone to this great event! 🎅

Reception and Pre-School joined in with fundraising for Children In Need by wearing non-uniform and purchasing a Pudsey bear wrist band. We learnt all about the different ways of fundraising and how it will help the many children across the UK.

Pre-School had a lot of fun this morning making chocolate-chip muffins! Yum!

Pre-school enjoyed getting to dress up for Halloween today! They loved playing games and having party food!

Thank you to Little Blue Monster Productions for their show 'Pirate Pearl and the Big Blue Monster!' this morning. Pre-School, Reception and Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed the show!

Reception and Pre-School had a lovely visit from Music in the Round this morning to help us practise the songs and read the story of Giddy Goat. The children and adults really enjoyed practising the actions and learning all about Giddy and his friend Edmund. We are all looking forward to going to the Crucible Theatre on Monday 5th November!
