Westerham Cyclery Description

Cycle cafe and shop in the heart of Westerham in Kent. We sell coffee, cake, bikes, accessories, spares and clothing. We have bike boxes for hire and a full workshop.

This shop is run by active cyclists with a knowledge and love for the sport.

The intrinsic link between coffee (and cake) and cycling sees The Drop Bar at Westerham Cyclery offer the perfect pre-ride meeting point, mid-ride pit stop or post-ride refreshment. We are quickly becoming a focal point of the community, appealing to weekday regulars, weekend warriors, walkers /ramblers and non-cyclists alike.

The Drop Bar at Westerham Cyclery serves cracking coffee, home-made cakes and other refreshments in a relaxing atmosphere. TV’s broadcast live racing events whilst your pride and joy can be secured (and monitored on CCTV) in the “Bike Shed” where hanging rails have been supplied by local company Cyclepods.

We even offer “free air” from our track pump so minor mechanicals can be self-serviced… although our qualified mechanic can assist.

Don’t forget to check out our map wall, an OS map so you can plan your local rides and take in the beautiful countryside of Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Just ask the staff – they run the local cycling club so this is their backyard.

At what point do you think this customer realised his brakes needed some attention?? Even more worrying was when after advising him of the problem and telling him that we didn’t have the pads in stock he asked for directions to Toys Hill. I’m thinking the local residents would have seen some sparks flying past🚴‍♂️😱😱😱😱😱

User

Dear friends, due to the unprecedented amount of repairs we have in our workshop at present the Dropbar cafe will now close at 1pm daily until further notice.
Also please note that our workshop will only accept bikes for servicing or repair if they have been booked in advance or in emergency situations.
Thanks for your understanding.

The Cyclery will be closed tomorrow due to adverse riding conditions! (Unless you’re totally made like the three riders we had in today who were covered in snow, freezing and slightly delirious! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️💪)

Yet to experience Cyclery as a bike shop, but if the café side of the business is anything to go it'll be top notch. Nice atmosphere, coffee and food. Great bike parking. Worth popping in if you're passing whether on the bike, on foot or in the car. Thank guys.

User

This is the best cycle cafe in town. I had the misfortune to slip on black ice on a group ride on 2 Jan. Result bruises and a bent rear hanger. Although massively busy the wonderful owner took the time to fix my bike and refused payment! Huge thanks for your help. Plus coffee and bacon sarnie was the best!!

User

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I'm very much a novice at cycling and they helped me pick out some great equipment. I love the location and the cafe bit is fantastic

User

Terrific discovery for me! You can tell I'm a bike rider because my first comment is about cake! In particular bread pudding, so good that I accidentally had a second piece. Mark and his colleagues were really helpful and I'll be sure to be returning soon!

User

Serviced a bike for me and were very patient with my complete & utter lack of cycling knowledge & experience. Gave me lots of advice which has got me started. Great coffee & cake too.

User

Have only used as a mid-ride coffee n cake stop, but as that it is perfect. Owner/staff really friendly, good coffee and cakes. Bike channel on TV and relaxed seating and plenty of it. Small outside courtyard type area too.

User

Great stop, great food, great coffee.... well worth it!

User

Great place to stop, mid ride, for a coffee and bacon sandwich. Bread pudding is also fab! Safe cycle parking means you can relax and enjoy.

User

Great place for a cuppa mid ride with excellent facilities to look after our bikes and good food and drink

User

Great coffee shop to stop of at mid ride! Run by lovely friendly people eager to help out in any way they can. Even met another cyclist and had a quick chat about different equipment that made each of our rides that little easier!

Great place!!

User

Great bikes racks complete with locks, friendly and helpful staff.

Enjoyed a hot chocolate and a toasted sandwich.

User

First time visit after a kids session at cyclopark in Gravesend. Perfect for a light lunch, the standard of the café food was amazing and delicious. The showroom is both well stocked and varied in costs. The staff were very attentive and sounds like they are guys that go that extra mile to help as witnessed with a lady that needed help with her sale position whilst we were there. Bike! Is on the TV which is great!

Thanks guys for a lovely lunch!

User

Excellent service - always happy and ready to help. Very knowledgeable staff with a well stocked shop. Get down to the Cyclery as soon as you can!

User

Excellent coffee and brownies. Very friendly service . Best cycle cafe within 20 mile radius of Westerham. Can't ask for more.

User

Awesome little bike shop. Absolutely saved my bacon when I had a mechanical. The mechanic wasn't working that day so they loaned me a wheel to get home. On top of that, great coffee and cakes. Highly recommend dropping in if you are ever close to Westerham

User

Amazing people who run this place. We turned up 2nd Jan as a large group. ( sorry we didn't phone in advance). They went above and beyond to feed us with lovely food without any delay. 👏and to top it all they did a bike fix got one of our riders those bike got damaged enroute due to black ice. Thank you guys so much. 🙂We will definitely be back again and will spread the word as to your top place

User

After a long ride in the saddle on 11 June, with two punctures and after I used all my tubes I was lucky enough to find this bike shop. I bought two tubes and the staff was very helpful changing my tubes for free even though they were closing the shop at the time. Thank you for turning a bad day into a good one.

User

A brilliant little place at the end of Westerham High St. Secure bike storage on vertical racks with free lock loan, excellent food and drink and a well stocked shop. Staff were friendly and there was a lovely vibe to the place. Thankfully we didn't need the services of the workshop!

Kent and Surrey need more cycling cafes like the Westerham Cyclery

User

41 years off the bike, great place to restart. Friendly knowledgable team, sorted my new bike and working on my vintage one. Looking good.

Whole bunch of good people in the club supporting me getting going again.
