Took my car for a respray in November 2016, went back in June for MOT and asked for them to take a look at the spray job to be told the paintwork was peeling due to the car seat knocking it. This did not sit right with me, I have since spoken to an independent mechanic who told me that the paint job is very thin, wrinkly and of poor quality.
Took the car back to the manager in Westerleigh today. The manager looked at the car, blamed all the marks on myself and told me the car had been abused. He then told me to speak to a body shop instead for a second opinion. I came away shaken and visibly upset by the way he treated me.

I have now gone immediately from Westerleigh to a body shop for them to review. They have said that whilst yes there are some marks from scuffs made by myself, there is wrinkling around the rear lights, marks made when rubbing down the car are showing through, lacquer is missing from the door handles, scratches within the paintwork, it also has not been blended properly and the paint job is of extremely poor quality. These marks are things that could not possibly have been made by myself.
I will now be seeking an independent assessor to assess the quality of workmanship with view to taking this to the ombudsman.

Avoid this company.

Edit to reply to the owner:

Yes the whole point of the paint work being done in November 2016 was to fix damage caused in 8 years of owning the vehicle. Two areas, one where a car had scraped the passenger side of the vehicle when parked, another where a post had low wall was hit reversing at low speed and the rear bumper caused by a pushchair being taken in and out - hardly an abused car.
What you have failed to acknowledge is that you can clearly see circular marks within the paint made by your body shop when preparing the vehicle for the paint work. You can clearly see lacquer has been missed by your body shop. There are areas around the rear lights, that couldn't possibly have been caused by myself, where the paint is bubbling and cracking. I clearly pointed out that regardless of the current scratches on the passenger side, the paint work that had been done was flat - your response was that it was in fact shiny: sorry but you clearly are deluded or just don't know anything about bodywork as two professionals disagree with you on this.

I did not storm off and you did not go to get a camera, nor did I become irate. You refused to acknowledge your companies failings, so I told you that you would be losing the business from myself and my husband. Your response was "good", so I got back in my car and left....or was I supposed to stick around??? We have been using your company for several years now, I was trying to get a reasonable resolution on a complaint.

Booked the car in last minute yesterday, had the problem resolved by lunchtime. Excellent service, friendly and kept me informed on their findings and progress. Highly recommend!

I've had great service from these guys over the last few years. As a keen mechanic myself, I'm particular about who works on my car and want the job done properly. I've found Westerleigh Car Centre to be trustworthy and flexible. They keep in contact and let you know of any issues. Their labour rates are reasonable too.

An absolute horror story of incompetence and deceit from beginning to end. The manager even resorted to violence when he was called out by a different reputable service centre! He appeared to need some serious therapeutic intervention. If you value honesty and expertise, then DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE.

In response to you - ABSOLUTELY MY REVIEW IS CORRECT. Honda accord. Summer 2014. My husband James took it in and i had the misfortune to have to deal with you too.

Trusted local garage.
Been using Westerleigh car centre for years for all my MOT and repairs.
No fuss. No rip-offs. They always ring me to let me know how it's going and ask how I want to proceed.
Wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

£62 per hour labour costs which is pretty good. They have a very accurate estimate for length of time for work to be completed. Great customer service at reception. Fantastic communication, there was a problem with one of the bolts on the job as soon as the issue arose the contacted me to let me know their intended course of action to resolve it. Overall a great job, thoroughly intend to use Westerleigh again.

Serviced car in February and had to return in April as the radiator had develooed a leak. It turned out that radiator cap had threaded. Although the last people to put on the radiator cap was Westerleigh Car Centre they refused to acknowledge they were at fault. £92.08 later I had a new cap and a denial there was anything wrong. I'm currently taking my car into a different garage to look into a problem with a leaking radiator. A lesson for you in listening to what the customer is telling you.
