About Westminster Energy Forum

The purpose of the WEF @ www. westminsterenergy.org is: ‘To develop and disseminate actionable intelligence regarding climate risks and energy transition issues among decision-makers within the carbon value chain. 'Operationally the WEF functions like a small think tank delivering two complementary workstreams during the political year for a network of 150 organisations in the UK and overseas. Each workstream comprises several high level events by invitation that provide: > Climate Risk & Resilience Assessments - via Cross-Sector Stakeholder Insights > Energy System Transition Assessments - via Industry Sector ReviewsThe WEF's Annual Programme is informed by five strategic themes which cut across our two workstreams and that drive the pathfinding nature of all WEF agendas throughout the political year. These Themes currently are: 1. Uncertainties in Climate Science and Trends in Climate Change2. Geopolitics of International Energy Transitions and Implications for Net Zero Delivery3. Delivering UK Energy Transition and Carbon Targets via Policy and Regulation4. Energy System Innovation and Transformation via Technology and Infrastructure Integration5. Risk-based Challenges for Corporate Strategy, Capital Deployment and the Licence to OperateAll the WEF's agendas explicitly seek to challenge decision-making under uncertainty by exploring the dynamics of the risks and drivers involved in policymaking and infrastructure deployment. All our discussions cross-reference thematically to maintain continuity from one event to the next, providing strong value for the wide range of organisations and practitioners who part. All content from our events is shared freely among the WEF network.
