Saturday 27 October will now be DMU instead of 20227 as the weather forecast is such that it has been deemed that working train heat will be required. AB

D6732 repaired power unit is started for the first time at Barrow Hill. Still a lot of work to be completed before it returns to NNR but this is a great step forward.

Just a few πŸ“ΈπŸ“ΈπŸ“Έ from yesterday evening's πŸŒ™ stock moves.
20227 took the Quad Set + Pigeon Van along with the Suburban set up to Bridge Road where they were put to bed for the Winter ❄⛄
Then, once all the shunt moves were complete, we brought back a single coach and two CCT's to Sheringham in readiness for future running days.

Sherlock is out and about this weekend supporting the home fleet running weekend.

Diesel services this coming Friday (28th Sep) and Saturday (29th Sep) will be operated by one of our Class 101 Diesel Multiple Units instead of the usual diesel locomotive. This is due to Class 20 20227 not being available for traffic.

User

Due to circumstances beyond our control, diesel services on North Norfolk Railway today and Saturday 22nd September will be operated by Diesel Multiple Unit.

20227 'Sherlock Holmes' is the planned locomotive for this Friday & Saturday's yellow timetable, (21st & 22nd September), 5 round trips starting at 09.55

The diesel fleet takes a rest over the next few days over the 1940's Weekend, with the exception of an evening Railcar service on Saturday evening. However action is still present in other areas, with D5631's appearance changing radically this week following the application of primer on top of the recently prepared bodywork.

One of the final duties for Eric the Bear D9537. Friday evening after end of service we ran light to Holt, Shunted out the Fruit D wagon, unloaded equipment from it required for the forthcoming 40's Weekend then conveyed it to Weybourne. This morning's crew then took it to Sheringham before working D9537 last running day at NNR for this visit. AB

Tomorrow (Saturday 8th September) is the final day of running for visiting Class 14 D9537 'Eric'. The loco is due to return home early next week.
We are extremely grateful to the loco owners and the ELR for the hire of the locomotive and the support provided whilst it's been with us. As well as being popular with passengers and crews, it has been a vital part of the loco lineup during the high fire risk this summer.
The photo shows D9537 on its first day of passenger service ...on 5th August. Will you be around tomorrow for its last day?
Five round trips are available, departing Sheringham at 09.55, 11.20, 13.00, 14.40 and 16.20 and departing Holt at 10.35, 12.15, 13.55, 15.35 and 17.00. Steam services run in between.

Everyone's favourite holidaying bear is out this weekend, Saturday and Sunday sees D9537 Eric on the last two trips each day, 1620 and 1740 off Sheringham.

User

Diesel assistance has now been withdrawn and normal red service has been resumed. The last two services each day will be a Class 101 DMU on Mondays to Fridays and be hauled by a diesel locomotive at weekends.

User

Diesel assistance will now only be provided from Weybourne to Holt, with steam locos working the remainder of each round trip by themselves.
Class 20 20227 'Sherlock Holmes' is expected to be the banking locomotive for the next few days, starting on Tuesday 14th August.

Latest allocations announced which apply until further notice.

D9537 back in rude health today after its blip earlier this week. Holt station 10/8.

Very picturesque railway and an excellent day out. Events here are well-organised by the friendly staff and you feel your money spent during your visit is appreciated, giving that feelgood factor that it is used to keep the NNR going.
