What can we say , this has got to have been one of the hardest days volunteering we have done , on site for 4.30am and finished at 5pm nonstop bar a half hour at 9.30 this morning , absolutely soaked through freezing cold , and in and out of racking, swinging on side of juggernaut lorries, total respect to all competitors who were very grateful for what we were doing and WOW our volunteers who turned up worked like Trojans, you guys and girls are just amazing, despite the conditions you still laughed and competed against each other, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, ❤❤❤

Dont think been this cold ever, soaked through, only 6 hours to go lol x

And we are off, wish us luck lol x

Excellent news

Day 2 done of Ironman set up, well done all, played a blinder again , and so busy up unit, thank you all xx

In the words of one of our volunteers we smashed it lol, brilliant first day setting up Ironman, well done to all, we get to do it all again tomorrow xx

And for those who think we are having a weekend off, tomorrow we will be providing Patt testers for this event , we also have a house clearance, busy busy x

We will also be assisting at this event next Saturday 22nd , I believe this will be the 4th year and it's alway been fab x

Cracking day although a bit windy at are Bric a Brac stall on seafront today.Many thanks to our vols and those who donated and bought from us, some fab compliments xx

Spread the word please....... WCV are collecting, repairing and restoring items of furniture that could help people on low incomes turn houses into homes whilst reducing the amount of waste to landfill. In order to assist those more in need we offer a 50% discount to anyone with a referral letter. This can be from any voluntary or statutory agency ie. Social Worker, Doctor, Health Visitor, Housing Association or Citizens Advice Bureau and many more. We can deliver goods for a... small charge and help to get items into the home. WCV has many volunteers and people on work experience placements who are learning and sharing new skills that will provide them with up to date references and enhanced CVs that will help them to progress on to either further training or employment. We have a warehouse on the Granby Industrial Estate that has stocks of sofas, tables and chairs, beds, chests of drawer, wardrobes, electrical items and white goods. We try to advertise some of our stock on our facebook page Home 2 Home, but obviously there is a lot more to be seen. Why not pop along, ask your support worker to bring you, or give us a call to see if we can help. Our warehouse is 17a Cambridge Road DT4 9TJ and our phone number is 01305 830255. We close the warehouse to the public at 1pm each day (Monday to Friday) to enable us to undertake repairs, furniture movement and attend various meetings/networks within the community.
