This is one of the most amazing hotel experiences I have lived. Whilst it would be fair to say you should expect high quality from a top end of the price market hotel........I can say this hotel is worth it. Peaceful, relaxing and utterly enjoyable. The staff are amazing, the service first class, all food and drink of the highest quality. From arrival to departure I felt like a King. Try out the complimentary bikes in the local roads or enjoy a mud spa....all is for your pleasure.

We went here for a Birthday treat. The setting was lovely. A large well decorated dinning room with comfy chairs, an open fire and veiws of the gardens.
The food was freshly prepared on site, and even though im a big eater and thought I'd need some thing else once I'd got home. There was plenty of food provided.
It was a little let down by the service, plus a 10% service charge that we had no say over.
As this is one of the more expensive Afternoon tea venues we did expect a far better service.

Very welcoming and attentive staff. Lovely hotel very relaxing place to stay. Breakfast is excellent and the food from the bar is nice if slightly expensive.

Had a fantastic stay. The staff were extremely welcoming from the minute we arrived and did their best to ensure a good stay. We had a lovely room with views over the gardens which was spacious and well furnished. The dinner in Greys Brasserie was lovely and filling. The spa facilities are great and it was a most relaxing night away.

A very beautiful and elegant place to spend the weekend, truly faultless. Do try the tasting menu, it's extremely interesting and memorable for all the right reasons. The house & grounds are breathtakingly well maintained and the service welcoming yet understated.

Doesn't try too hard. Staff intelligent and extremely helpful without being fawning. Probably best hotel I've been to.

We went to the Brassiere restaurant on January 26th for a 60th wedding anniversary and was very disappointed with the service and food we received. The staff made absolutely no effort whatsoever to make anything of the 60th anniversary in the way of congratulating my grandparents and we left very disappointed after expecting what we thought would be impeccable service. How wrong were we. We ended up with getting about 4 different members of staff serving us so no personal service and so things between the staff got confusing which was obvious to us. The drinks order that was given came incorrect and when we tried talking to staff they couldn't understand us and unfortunately we couldn't understand them. Three of us asked for steaks and they were cooked completely wrong but we never wanted to fuss at that moment because it was a special occasion. We paid additional cost for an anniversary cake and no mention of it ever came from the staff to the point were they gave us dessert menus and then went off so i then after five minutes had to ask the staff member to remember to bring the cake! When the cake come it was absolutely shocking and embarrassing to be honest and worse it was dry and tasted horrible even though they say it was handmade in the kitchen. We were unable to eat the cake and it had to be given back to the kitchen and we had our money back. It was literally smaller than the size of a side plate and stood no more than 7 centimetres off the plate and just had three flowers across it. It looked to us as if the staff were way more committed to the dining room restaurant were people were paying £115 per meal which is a shame. We had soup for starters that should of come with homemade bread but came with nothing so we asked for the bread and he came back with 4 pieces of a bread that was not homemade and olives which they then charged us £3.75 on the bill! Then after finished eating we went into another room to relax for 15 minutes and one of us ordered a coffee but two coffees came and after explaining we only ordered one they said would anyone like it and nan said she would have it to then actually be charged for that on the bill.
We were very disappointed and let down by the whole evening to be honest and nothing like we were expecting or what nan and grandad deserved on there big 60th wedding anniversary! The worst thing is that the day after we called Whatley Manor to express our dissatisfaction and was told that someone would call us to discuss the issue i.e the operations manager. No call back to us so we called twice again to be told the manager would call us and its now February 4th and still NO call from them! So disappointed after what should of been a great night and celebrations turned into a nightmare and much disappointment! Still waiting for a call ........ :-( oh and the steak that three of us had was half cut up and taken home for the dog as we couldn't eat it as not cooked to how we asked!
