When The Pongs Go Ping

When the pongs go ping is a book containing fifty unpoems and fifty short stories. It is a gallimaufry of delights!

My two previous literary offerings were unlike When the pongs go ping. Bark Staving Ronkers was published in 2006. The book explored and elaborated upon the first twelve years of my musical experience as a bass guitarist. The Royal Worms was unveiled in 2015 and it was a fictional adventure, with elements of fantasy, plenty of jokes and a sprinkling of sex. I have never written any poetry (except for the first part of this latest tome, which was a juvenile attempt to describe a rose. ) I know nothing about the rules of poetry, nor do I intend to try to understand how poetry works. Therefore, the (sometimes), rhyming efforts included in the book are proffered as almost poems. To counter-balance the (almost certainly), unpoetic nature of the start of each chapter, I have also included a more prosaic second half in each of the parts of this book. Please make of all these what you will.
I dedicate this opuscule to my dear, long-suffering wife, Pauline. She is an absolute gem. I love her dearly, and she supports me in all that I do. I would also like to dedicate When the Pongs go Ping to my late and marvellous Mother, my wonderful children, my lovely grandchildren and my beautiful dogs. They have all added immeasurably to life’s rich tapestry. Any money which I make from this book will be donated to Greek Animal Rescue. This is a wonderful charity which aims to help the abused, neglected, stray and injured animals of Greece. Finally, I have to thank a special, dog-walking friend, Bradles, for his awesome cover painting of Pongs Pinging. It would have been so much harder to visualise if it were Pings that were Ponging! However, he is a very talented (but modest), artist, and I feel sure he could have painted that too.
