Please support Philip Ball who is very kindly completing the Melbourne Marathon Challenge Event on 14 October 2018 in memory 'of Pippa who's Wish came true before she very sadly passed away in 2017 aged just 5 years old.

'I'm running the 2018 Medibank Melbourne Marathon in memory of a very special little girl Pippa.
... Pippa sadly passed away on 27th February 2017 aged 5 after battling with a brain tumour since she was 18 months old. She under went many operations and several rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She lived her life to the full and always had a huge smile on her beautiful face.
'When You Wish Upon a Star' played a huge role in Pippa's life making so many dreams come true.
I wanted the chance to give something back to help them to make many more amazing memories and dreams come true for other Wish Children'.

Wish Week Day 2!!!
Our Awesome Fire Fighters from Stockport Fire Station have been fundraising tirelessly again this year...
Each year Kev Downey is the driving force behind the fundraising and he certainly didn't mess about this year... Kev started on the 6th January by taking part in the Winter Fan Dance, followed by the Great Manchester 10K, where he ran inside the infamous Wish Bear and Steven Wood ran as Cracker the dog, this was no easy feat as it was sooo hot that da...y...
This didn't dampen their spirits, only a few weeks later they completed the Mount Everest Ladder climb in Stockport... and then last weekend Kev ended his year, by taking part in the grueling Para's 10!!
So yet again... on behalf of all of the Wish Children and The North West Wish Team, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts and thank you for presenting us with this amazing cheque this morning for £1916.25!!!

Children’s author Fay Evans has announced “When You Wish Upon a Star” as her Charity of the Year.
Fay is a best selling author of rhyming stories for illustrated books for children aged up to eight years old. She will be donating a percentage of the profits from future book sales to “When You Wish Upon a Star”.
As part of her fundraising effort, Fay is continuing her inspiring Author Visits to primary schools across the UK. She delivers fun and interactive storytelling sessi...ons for pupils in Nursery, Reception classes and Years 1 through to 3.
Fay will be donating a percentage of the profits from every book sold on each Author Visit to “When You Wish Upon a Star”.

SETA Training & Advisory Services Ltd based in Stockport has been supporting ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ since 2013 and again they have very kindly chosen us as their Charity of the Year. To date they have raised an incredible £13,557.50.
Over the next 12 months, SETA will be organising lots of fundraising events which include:
12th October 2018 - Annual Chief Executive’s Lyme Park Charity Walk
... 07th December 2018 - Santa Dash – venue to be confirmed
13th April 2019 - SETA FC v Stockport County at Woodley Sports Stadium
With the help of their new Apprentices and incredible members of Staff we are sure their events are again going to be a massive success.

A massive congratulations to Greg Gillan not only for completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge Event but also for raising an incredible £336.74 for "When You Wish Upon A Star" That is just amazing and we can't thank you enough, that really will make a massive difference.
The Challenge was to complete it in under 12 hours and Greg did it in 9 hrs 18 mins which he should be really proud about.

Congratulations Jay in completing the growling Ironman Wales Challenge Event in memory of Jonny Sharples. It's so lovely to see Dave and Cath Jonny's parents in one of the photos kindly sent to us, we're sure they are as proud of you as we are at the North West Office.
Not only has he completed a massive challenge event but also raised £767.00 in aid of "When You Wish Upon A Star" which is just absolutely amazing.
To date Jay has raised through all his challenge events nearly... £14,000.00!!!! wow, that is just out of this world and the North West Wish Family cannot thank him enough but he isn't stopping there in June 2019 Jay is also taking part in the Ironman Ireland Challenge!

Wow where to start? We were so lucky to get chosen as a family to go to center parcs. The dedication and tireless efforts put in by the volunteers, patrons and celebrities was amazing. You are made to feel very special and deserving! We made some amazing memories that will be treasured for a very long time. Thank you so much we love you all!!! Xxxxx

When you have a child with a life threatening illness it's very difficult to just get on a plane and fly off. I mean what if something was to happen without the specialist Dr's and their staff. It was in 1999 that When you wish upon a star made it possible for my son and I to go to Lapland. On the plane I recognised medical staff but they didn't make it obvious they were there. The important thing was they were there like a hospital in stealth mode. Some of the gladiators came with us and we sat next to Saracen on the coach. The trip was magical and I cannot find the words to thank this charity for all it did for my family. My son passed away 4 years later aged 11.

What an amazing charity X words can't express how grateful we are for providing us with two amazing holidays at center parcs the first back in September with all the grandparents was so lovely then getting invited to the winter wonderland weekend was so overwhelming X we've made such special memories with Evie on both weekends and we will be eternally thankful X you are all angels thank you so much xxxx

What a charity & what a team! I have worked with Maria & Sue a number of times helping wishes come true... They are and inspiration... They have been my inspiration! They were never colleagues they were always friends. Their passion, caring & dedication is something you find in very few people. Knowing there are people like there are at Wish Upon a Star gives you hope & faith... Carry on the amazing work helping to make lovely memories for people in horrendous circumstances x

These guardian angels are incredible. They have such a passion to ensure that every child they take under their wings has the most magical time . Brightest star in the sky is this one you shine bright for so many children with life limiting conditions , make life fun and "normal" for small periods of time but those times are so special and I personally will never forget the special times given to my son scot and the smile on his face Lapland meeting the real Santa and elf's, , centreparcs and the viking banquet, euro Disney, Blackpool making a video, we got soaked in the sea and all the people we met and will never forget all this 10 yrs ago and you are still going strong love you all xxx

Amazing group of people who go way further than the extra mile. So overwhelmed by everyone involved with this fantastic charity and everything they do. Keep up the excellent work. I'm hoping to do some fund raising in 2017 to give something back as a small token of my thanks
