Who will be fishing on our new pegs this year?

User

We have just left this morning we’ve had a blast kids have loved the arcade and my daughter has lived kids club and the on sight facilities only down full there fisherman skills haven’t been the best haha it’s been our second visit and we’ve enjoyed it just as much if not more

User

We has the most amazing time at white acres, the grounds are kept amazing, the accommodation was immaculate when we arrived. The entertainment was amazing, Shara the entertainer was second to none couldn't fault her. The bar staff were also excellent, hats off to the bar manager Alex

We had a family holidah here for 4 nights (2nd april). Was lovely. Couldn't say much bad about it. We had a 3 bedroom lodge, was very clean and better than I expected. (Bit of landscaping around lodge and would have made it better, was a bit muddy) But other than that it wa perfect! Entertainment was good for little ones. Food was nice. Reasonable 'pub prices meals. Staff were friendly. Shop expensive (but as expected - unless you shop off site) Morrison's close by. We didn't get chance to use pool as went on days out. Nice kids parks and small indoor soft play. Would certainly recommend it ..

My husband and i had a wonderful short break at White Acres. We upgraded our caravan online a few days before we arrived which cost just £30 for the 4 nights. ( we ended up with a beautiful view of Trelawnly lake). The Caravan was clean and we had the bonus of towels included and also a washing up pack ( tea towel washing up liquid and cloths.) My Husband enjoyed the fishing even though he didnt manage to catch a monster on Pats pool, (Due to the fish begining to sporn) he did have success on Jennys lake, catching Carp at around (6lb - 12lb). I enjoyed the pool although basic and could do with an overhaul it was nice to get away from the fishing for a bit . White Acres is a great base for exploring too. And the one thing i really did like about this park is that, if you are not into the entertainment the bar is completely separate so you can still enjoy a drink and conversation without having the noise of the entertainment. And if you want a meal i would recommend The Mermaid inn at Porth. The pub on the beach. Great views Awesome burgers best we ever tasted. Although it looks run down from the outside dont let this put you off food is fantastic. Thanks White Acres we will be returning.

Me my partner and children and my dad just got back yesterday we loved it so much my partner has already booked again for next year this time in a lodge staff were hard working and pleasant and nothing was to much trouble kids loved the entertainment aswel Italian restaurant was lovely and restaurant was also food was excellent

User

Love this place! We had a lovely lodge near the lakes with plenty of space for the kids to play outside. Facilities were fab! We had an emergency in the early part of our holiday which meant we needed an ambulance. We called for help and within minutes several staff arrived and stayed with us until the ambulance took my dad to hospital. The head chef even hung about after realising his first aid skills weren’t needed, just to help keep the kids entertained while my dad was being dealt with. He’s now my son’s new hero!! We were then stopped by staff throughout the duration of our holiday who were all checking on us and asking how my dad was getting on. Staff went above and beyond and we cannot speak highly enough of them. We sincerely hope to be back soon

User

Just returned after a family holiday and we loved every second of it. The entertainment staff were fab and the Geordie lad behind the bar was a good laugh. The caravan was spot on and we were close to all the main facilities which was very handy with a 7 month old baby. All the staff were superb and we are already looking for another Park Dean holiday for next year.

User

Just got back from a fab weekend.

Lovely and clean lodge. Clean grounds. Great food on site too and reasonably priced.

Peaceful fishing lakes that are nice to walk around even if you aren't fishing. Great outdoor and indoor play for kids too.

Can't wait to come back in the summer

User

User

Had a fab week. Beautiful place so peaceful and very clean all over. Staff very friendly and helpful. Have been before and just got back from there. Would go again and recommend it

User

It’s ok bar staff pleasant fishing hit and miss . I believe they would also benefit from sending information to all caravans ability what competitions are happening on what day. The entertainment never saw it can’t comment but when I went to the toilet and looked in totally empty.

I also think to pay 12 pound for the privilege of spending my own money in a bar is a joke have different passes for different client groups. We are never going to watch the entertainment so why pay .

User

Even though the fishing was better this year, or so my husband says, not a place suitable for a family holiday. Main restaurant was closed so food was in the bar. Can u tell me why there are pickled onions in a steak pie...disgusting !!! Food isn’t exactly cheap here so we ate out in surrounding pubs after eating just once on site! The entertainment for kids was ok but after that the word diabolical springs to mind.

We paid for one extra night. This cost us £120 on top of what we’d paid for our weeks stay. Only to then find a friend of ours who was also down there paid an extra £60 for an extra night on Easter weekend. When we questioned this reception told us this wasn’t true even though our friend was with us and he told her yes it was true.....phone call to head office is now due

User

Where do I start ,on arrival our lodge in the double bedroom standing water due to a leaking pipe somewhere ,so we had to move. On the plus side we were put into a lovely lodge , but on the downside wr had to move again before Friday because it was booked out to some else .so we moved into another log cabin ,but we couldn't get the heating to work ,but that was sorted out later ,and this ment we didn't eat untill late. Th pressure on the heating kept dropping ,but that has been sorted. We went for a meal at the clubhouse ,which I must say hasn't improved since last year ,cold food served on cold plates .sent mine back and git a replacement which was a big improvement so won't be eating there again . don't think I will be coming back.

Me and my friends go to White acres every September for the fishing . Last September I was very disappointed with parkdean when we get in our caravan the one we have every year first thing I do is check it over I turned the bed back and the was a single bottom bed sheet on a double bed how's that work .then I press the one touch thermostat and it does not work no heating so I ring reception and a cleaner and a maintainance man come right away cleaner changes the bed and apology the maintainance man looks at it and says we know about it we have ordered the part so no thermostat . We are in the Bar one night and it's not the first time they run out of larger then we fancied a steak in the restaraunt and it was steak night as well so we sat down all 8 of us at 7.30pm and was told that they have run out of steak i said wot next so we got up and went in to Newquay for a Chinese in September I know it's there very busy time so why don't they sort it out .also we like to play Bingo and the time every night they used to play it was eyes down at 8.45pm. The club was full not a seat free all drinking but now they have changed the time to 5pm who plays bingo at that time not maney in there .please please please bring back the Bingo at 8.45pm we love the fishing at White acres and I know they have spent a lot of money on the fishery the pegs and the fish. But we will be Back in September But I hope parkdean can sort things out.

User

Would never return again, partner & our friend paid £90 for the week to fish.. they couldn’t once get on the pool they wanted (pats pool) as people were leaving their bivvy’s there overnight unattended whilst they went to the clubhouse to get drunk! Also gave gave my partner and friend a skinful when asking them how long they would be taking up the peg. The tackle shop was informed and said they would remove them but it was quite clear they were regulars and they didn’t move them on! Instead they had to fish the match pools which wasn’t the reason for our visit (not really very big fish in there at all). I messaged whiteacers but had no response off them even now over a month later! Disgusted in your customer services and how you treat your campers!! If there was an option for NO stars then I would be choosing that!

And last of all the caravan we hired wasn’t at all what we had requested, having an 8 month old meant traveling to shops off site to get her food as there was a tiny fridge/freezer which was supposed to accommodate 8 people? Meaning extra costs of traveling to other shops to get our food due to extreme prices in your on site shop.. £3:50 for a £1 pizza

Thinking of buying a holiday home here? For get it!

We've owned a unit here for the last 5 years and don't get me wrong, the area is it's saving grace and the first couple of years have been great.

However 2 years ago we had been sweet talked into upgrading and to be honest we liked what we was offered.

There was no hesitation in taking our old unit as deposit and rushing through a finance agreement over the phone (which I wasn't allowed time to sit down and consider but hey ho)

We had taken various bookings for that season and we had agreed a date to have the units switched over after the August bank holiday. Our caravan was removed into September However the new unit wasn't sited until late OCTOBER!! And safely hooked up and pathways constructed.

We lost out on significant bookings and really left us wondering what we had let ourselves into. After nearly 12months we was offered just £1000 compensation to be offset against £4500 ground bills.

Year on year the bookings have slowed down and it's no surprise why. The entertainment budget has been significantly cut and the evenings have been poor, the food is not only slow but rarely cooked and prepared to an edible standard (please check out trip advisor) don't just take my word for it!

Let's put the icing on the cake! This season we are not allowed to have our own contractors on site to carry out repairs and maintenance, it now all has to go through the park and after they add their mark up you're again faced with a bigger bill.

Our boiler had died on us this year whilst we had guests staying with us, now not only have they gone the whole week without hot water but we've been told they can't get a contractor to deal with our boiler until next week earliest and we've had to pay for ANOTHER caravan for our guests to stay as a consequence.

This park in particular is very quick to take but honestly not willing to give. This investment to the family is tens of thousands of pounds plus nearly £5k per year costs. It's robbery and there appears to be no authoritative regulatory body to prevent us from getting fleeced and having our hands tied.

Do not buy at White Acres!!!!

User

Just got back I would never go back. Lodge was dirty, broken toilet seats no hot water last two days. Club house was shocking. Had go to Morrison’s everyday for food as on site food was over priced or under cooked
