We have just returned from an overnight stay as we have been to the GYC.

I cannot fault the hotel.

The room was excellent and looked as if it had recently been refurbished.

Comfy bed.

Great bathroom with a bath and a waterfall shower.

Great service from all the staff.

Lovely drinks in the bar and so nice to sit out on the terrace.

Breakfast was superb and although we had to wait a while it was worth it as food all cooked to order.

We will definitely visit again and this time will eat in the evening as the food looked so good coming out

User

Really loved our stay, the room was fabulous, a large room with a modern four poster bed and a large flat screen TV. Thumbs up to the decor and the fat badger finished it off with lovely drinks and atmosphere at the end of the night . Customer service from the staff was great too, very helpful staff. Over all worthy top 5* for a night away.

My sisters and I stayed for 1 night in the new apartments, it's was really nice the bed was comfy the ensuite was roomy the whole place was very clean and had everything you would need for a short or long stay highly recommend the white hert, the staff from the hotel where very helpful and pleasant, all in all I would stay again

User

Lovely clean and comfortable hotel. Friendly helpful staff.

We paid extra for a large double which looked as if it had been refurbished. Bathroom very clean and had a lovely big bath and waterfall shower. Room 115.

The only down side was the room is at the back of the hotel and the early morning delivery woke us up. Early risers would not have this problem.

I'm can't believe I stayed at the same hotel as some of those who have commented below. The staff were extremely friendly & welcoming. My room was spacious, clean and had items such as tea & coffee making facilities, free toiletries, hair dryer & ironing board etc. My bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with ample choice, so I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Great central location and car parking was available. Will definitely stay there again and will be recommending it.

User

Fantastic place to stay right in the heart of Harrogate. Our room was amazing, special thanks to Lucy the receptionist for giving us a cheeky upgrade as it was our wedding anniversary! Will definitely stay there again.

User

Amazing time at a lovely hotel for work doo there this weekend with my other half who organised a trip there for her work.

The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and very helpful.

The decor in the hotel is very unique with traditional character and very modern facilities .

The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable, ticked all the boxes.

The meal we had there was all well received by everyone who thought it was very nice.

We were very impressed with the whole stay there and so did the rest of her work colleagues and management who went on that trip also had the same view .

Very highly recommended!

User

Absolutley fantastic hotel! Me and my partner sat outside The Fat Badger in the rain, under a huge brolly with cushions and blankets. So cosy. The rooms were so modern and clean. Friendly staff. Easy parking and cheap! So close to the centre too. Overall amazing. Will definitely be returning shortly.

User

We were happy with the hotel and it's location but were outraged by the price of the parking especially as there was no warning when booking.

Our room was well appointed, clean and tidy and the bathroom was very well equipped.

It would be useful to have somewhere to put a suitcase.

User

Really good hotel in great location and parking nearby. Room was lovely and clean although seemed to be quite a bit of mould staining in the bathroom which was unsightly but did not hamper our stay. Only encountered the bar and reception staff who were lovely and very professional. Rates very reasonable for such a quality hotel. Thanks for a great stay x

User

After reading some negative reviews I was prepared to find fault and I couldn't, the room, the food, the staff were all really good, I would definitely recommend this hotel and we are very fussy, the only comment I would make is that there was no water in the room which I always expect and like

User

The hotel was great an excellent location with really good staff, there was one exception though when been woke at 5.45am by the Open reach network vans in the yard next door as they loaded up on Monday morning and all the girl on reception could say was well we can't do anything about that, an offer of a free breakfast or small cah refund might have gone down better

User

Just one night stay after being to the BBC Good Food Show. Room ok, could be much improved with the window shutting tight or even double glazing ! Very noisy with people out side the bar area! When trying to sleep. Also the bathroom could do with a good clean, shower head a bit grim and the silicone underneath the sink!

User

Disappointed with the hotel considering how much they charge. Booked a double room, but it was probably the smallest double you could get. The weather was hot so, as the room didn't have air conditioning, we had to open the window. Not sure which was worst, the stifling heat with the windows closed or the constant noise from the extractor fans outside our window. Certainly not conducive to a good nights sleep. When I mentioned it to the receptionist in the morning she just dismissively said we should have asked for a fan. Surely good customer service would have mentioned that option when we booked in. Not impressed with either the hotel or their attitude, their only saving grace is The Fat Badger restaurant which was excellent, separate review done.

User

We visited Harrogate on a business trip. This hotel was expensive considering the small double room (4mx4m) we were given which apparently is a "Deluxe Double". However the room was clean, comfortable and modern. The newly refurbished bathroom looked great but the shower was a mere trickle. The corridors were tired and in need of updating. The WIFI almost non existent. We chose to dine out of the hotel.

User

We came out for our first wedding anniversary and for peace and quiet out of our normal hectic every day life.

We were advised by flyers in the hotel there was a wedding on that night. If advised when booked we would have chosen a different hotel.

The noise was awful and we were on the second floor. We were forced to go out at 11.30 at night because we just could not take the noise any longer. We even had the subtitles on of the TV else we wouldn't have been able to figure that out.

The room was nice and new but not worth what we paid by a long shot.

The door was wiggly and banged with every gust of wind so we didn't sleep much either night. Also the other doors on the floor banged closed behind you. All in all very noisy.

The generator hanging outside near our window banged on at 6 am.

They compensated us for the parking so that was a nice gesture when checking out

User

The hotel is in a great location, the bed and pillows were comfy, and the staff were pleasent, but that's as far as it goes for us, .. we booked a standard double and we've stayed in many hotels and locations, but this wasn't very good, the room was tiny, I would say the tiniest double we have stayed in, the bathroom was extremely dated (apart from the sink unit) the shower didn't work correctly, and there were no curtains or blinds for the rather large bathroom window, no towel rails just rall plugs where the rails were previously hung, and no mention of paying for parking when booked, all in all pretty poor considering the price we paid!

User

I have just come back from a night stay in this hotel,my room was like a match box,and very noisy. Very upset that no one asked how my night went. So pleased I never payed full price.

User

How the hell they call ours a "deluxe room" when it has a bar on the wall with hangers & no draw space I don't know. Have stayed in far better 2* so how they get 4* rating is beyond me - will not be staying here again don't care how "central" it is or how many "pretty cushions" they put on the bed... we're also advised that the wedding reception (Friday night) wouldn't bother us because of where our room was situated.. they were right, it didn't. Opened the window as it was so hot & all we could here were the "hotel air con units" 3 floors down.. over price & over rated...
