White Scar Cave Description
Deep beneath Ingleborough hill, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, lies a hidden world which has been sculpted by nature over thousands of years.
Imagine a subterranean landscape, beautifully lit, with gushing streams and waterfalls, exotic cave formations, and a huge ice-age cavern adorned with thousands of stalactites.
This is White Scar Cave.

During the recent cold spell a unique set of formations formed in one of the caves at Dan Yr Ogof in Wales.
The formations were not the usual stalactites and stalagmites, but ice formations. The inside temperature of the cave in the summer and winter is a constant 10 C, therefore in theory ice formations cannot grow inside the cave, but they did!
