Whitegate Inn Beefeater

We stayed at the joining premier inn and had prebooked breakfast. Firstly I'd like to thank the staff for making my daughter's birthday morning a little bit special by decorating the table for her with banners and balloons and making a fuss of her. Secondly the breakfast was exceptional not a single complaint everything catered for all tastes, breads and pastries, yogurts and fruit, cooked breakfast items and loads more as well as a huge range of drinks. We will certainly be staying with u guys again. Oh and the pastries we were allowed to take with us for our journey home were very much the cherry on top xxx

We arrived, someone came straight away said someone from restaurant side will be with you. Straight away someone came. Was taken to our table, was given menu's asked what we want to drink. Drinks was brought to the table .Whilst eating we got more drinks which was also brought to the table. The lady who was serving us was very attentive asking if we we're ok. We had never been before but was treated like regulars. We will come again. Big thanks to the staff. <3 <3 <3

Great experience last Sunday, fabulous waitress, really good food, like the new decor!

Brilliant food, excellent service. Staff are really friendly and the food is absolutely gorgeous, well worth what you pay for. I can’t fault it

Went for a meal today, early afternoon, Had a small problem at the start as they couldnt find our booking which we made on Thursday, where we stated one of us (me) is a wheelchair user, but found us a table no problem, I had the Turkey Dinner and really enjoyed it, although more than one Pig in Blanket would have been nice (Did the others do a runner?)

Food was good although steak a little grislely but work was paying so didn't moan.. Waitress was Brilliant she understood two workmen working away straight off and was more helpful than any hotel restaurant I've been too (and I've been to alot).. Swapping our "meal deal" desert or starter option for a pint (which is cheaper).. With no quibbles.. Spot on �

Most mouthfulls had gristle in them, and it was tough. Its such a shame as the staff are really nice, and the steak was cooked just how i like it. I think the meat supplier beefeater use must have seriously gone down hill. Time to re-think your suppliers if this is what they are supplying.

Not a success! It’s a good job this wasn’t our first visit as it was a disaster! Took food order it arrived with one side missing and the other in a dirty bowl. After waiting 5 min to find a waitress they took that long to replace that everyone had finished eating when they arrived. Then we waited 20 mins with empty glasses and ended up approaching bar to get more drinks. Deserts ordered and arrived promptly but the spoons we were given were dirty. Asked a member of staff for clean ones which she got but then she decided to stop and talk to another table on her way back to us! It wasn’t busy but they couldn’t cope. The exception being the barmaid (Olivia ) as nothing was too much trouble for her

Seemed to be understaffed as there were only 2 people on the bar and it took an hour for food to arrive at 315 on a Sunday. Staff were friendly enough and apologetic but Beefeater in general is totally overpriced for the quality of food they serve and the lack of atmosphere.

Ordered rib eye steak,medium cooked

45min later received ,what i can only describe as a lump of rump!

Questioned young man who brought my meal to table as to what cut of meat this was as i know for a fact it was not the £18 Rib eye i have paid&waited for!

Totally gave me the speil, like i just fell off top of a Christmas tree&it was the best Rib eye,blah,blah,blah

Id just finished a 15hr shift,am very tied & hungry so could not be bothered to disagree

Tried to cut into steak&surrated steak knife would not cut through meat because it was Raw!

I'd like to say that I enjoyed my visit to the beef eater at White gate. But after spending 4 hours trying to call in to book a table and getting no where I took my custom elsewhere. Disappointed is not the word

I ordered the chargrilled chicken and woodland mushroom risotto this arrived without the chicken. I complained to the staff who said you have to request the chicken ??? It clearly stated chicken in the dish header my new dis arrive a couple of minutes later cold I asked for a refund I got one I also asked to speak to the manager. Again I was made to feel like it was my fault for not requesting the chicken he even went as far as to shout abuse across the bar as I was leaving. Is this the customer service we can expect from all whitbread pubs? I have never been so embarrassed or humiliated in my life I work in the hospitality industry and have done for over 20 years I am appalled and will never return to the pub or the hotel adjoining.
