This coming Friday we’ve got Anthony Dobson playing at Whites.
Host of KMAH Radio's Needle to the Groove show; Anthony is usually found playing disco, boogie, hip hop and funk at North Bar and in other bars around town. You may also have caught him playing at Sub:terranea, Wire, 212 with Afro Co, Eastern Bloc in Manchester and a residency at York's infamous Rhumboogie.
An avid collector of 20 years, his collection spans everything from jazz through to techno and electro. Hi...s taste, skills and selection have seen him recently warming up/closing down for the likes of Roy Ayers, Rahaan, Norman Jay, Danny Krivit, yam who?, Nick the Record, Intergalatic Gary and A Saggitariun.
We are looking forward to hearing what he brings with him!

White hosted my 21st Birthday party last week, the venue was exactly what I wanted; a cosy setting with a quirky bar and live music. The staff were so accommodating and hospitable (special mention to Chris Dyer the manager for the organisation and Trudi who was fantastic). I would definitely recommend Whites for hosting an event or special occasion, or even if you just go there for breakfast and coffee! Thanks for such a lovely evening!

The staff were friendly and polite, the hot chocolate was amazing and we had the toasted teacakes... Will definitely have them again. Great place.

Staff are great, offered our table a full round due to a delay that didn’t even feel like a delay as there was plenty to do whilst waiting, wide selection of board games and chilled vibes

Lovely atmosphere, very pleasant staff and the cappuccino is much better than Costa or Starbucks. Also it’s dog friendly which is w winner for me.

Love the vibe here, v relaxing whatever time you go in from Mon for a spot of lunch to Sat night for a shared bottle of wine. Staff are very friendly, highly recommend x

Just mixed and matched from the menu, wasn't an issue. Smashed avo on toast with 4 poached eggs. Amazing breakfast, amazing value. Definitely worth a visit!

I visited yesterday with friends after a night out in Leeds city centre. Our waiter was outstanding and looked after us from the minute we walked in, to the minute we left, he was very professional and smartly dressed, even though he looked young! We had a bit of a joke as being from Birmingham and he had a bit of trouble understanding me!! The food was great and came within good time despite being busy. Basically the best bacon and sausage sandwiches I've ever had! Will be back in Leeds in a few months will be defiantly back again as it has made a lasting impression!!

I discovered this fine place completely by accident but once I did I felt at home straight away. The staff are friendly, the food is lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed and they have a fine selection of drinks. What's not to like? It's my new favourite place in Headingley.

Fab! Fab! Fab! Will miss going there and will miss the great modern range of good. Provided an excellent place for my daughter to study when she needed a change of scene from the uni library.

Come here nearly every week with my girlfriend and we love it , good selection of drinks which include, craft beer, cocktails,wine , spirits and some of the best coffee and smoothies around , all at a reasonable price!



On top of that the food is amazing for such a small place , great choices for vegetarian and vegan a like - can't fault the food !



And when it comes to a Friday/Saturday night if you like folk / acoustic/ old music this is the place to be as the band's which play every week are perfect to listen to .

Absolutely cannot fault the food that we were served last night - every bite was divine and the value for money for valentines meal was outstanding. Your chef is very talented, the chocolate fondant was more perfect and gooey than any other that I've tasted, seriously Bravo!!



The bottle of Pinotage was also very lovely and quite unexpected to come in that price (we were expecting perhaps a glass each! Might have had a bit of a fuzzy head this morning!)



The following is in no way a slight on the experience as a whole - perhaps more personal preference and a suggestion!!



- The grapes with the parfait were lovely, perhaps a sweet/spicy chutney would have worked slightly better as an accompaniment (simply because its easier to spread on the beautiful brioche bread)



- The steak/beet/potato combo was absolutely stunning, some seasoned greens would have been a welcome addition to the plate to just take the sweet edge off of the beets



We will be back for breakfast/lunch on a regular occasion now, we loved it!

My first visit here, just for coffee and cake before going on elsewhere to an evening event, but loved it ... an excellent flat white, delicious lemon sponge, and a perfect laid-back ambience. I'll definitely be back, to sample the menu ... and possibly a cocktail or two :)

I love this place and go quite often with my hubby. The food is lovely and the staff very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it-just be prepared to wait a little time for food at very busy times. They will always let you know roughly how long the wait is before you sit down which I think is fair enough. It's worth the wait folks. Am disappointed to see some negative reviews on here as I have no complaints at all.

Headingley needs more places like this, relaxed and quirky. Somewhere nice to have a drink without being in a busy rowdy bar. Only negative is the kitchen is open plan meaning you leave smelling of food. Good wine, nibbles and pleasant environment.

First visit today, Excellent service from a lady with dark hair, greeted us straightaway and explained specials. We wanted to stay longer but my dad had to get back on the motorway but the atmosphere was lovely. Food took a while to come but it was yummy, maybe they have new kitchen staff, who knows, but working in the industry myself I can forgive teething problems if their end product is as good as those pancakes!! Will definitely be back :)

The food is great, and really good value for money. BUT service is so slow, it took an hour to get 2 breakfast rolls. Just need a couple more staff on and would be fine

I've been here a few times and the food is nice and the place has a good atmosphere. Unfortunately service has always been terribly slow, and not being acknowledged when you've asked twice to order is poor. There doesn't seem to be anyone running front of house. It's not somewhere I could recommend because of this, and I've avoided going back because having to police your service is tedious. Also I'd prefer a plate to a slate.

I wasn't impressed with this place. Although the staff were perfectly polite when I got their attention they weren't attentive at all which was surprising given that it was fairly quiet. My coffee was SUPER strong so I asked for a little milk to add, which never came, my wrap came with an overload of beetroot inside which it didn't state on the menu, and the sides are really limited. Unless you want bread with your bread you're kind of stuck?

Really Disappointed at the service, I came on a quiet Friday morning and had been waiting over an hour for breakfast food. As the kitchen is open plan, you can see the staff put little effort into getting food out in a reasonable time. Even more frustrating was watching staff become rushed when a diliveroo order came through, the difference between service for customers actually in the restaurant to those who have ordered online was appalling. My friend was told an hour after ordering that there was no soup left so didn't even get any food after waiting all that time. I feel that waiting over an hour for a poached egg which takes 3 minutes to make is ridiculous. The food standard was also poor and not value for money, the poached egg was under cooked and cold. The bruchetta had little flavour and was poorly put together. We were offered a discount which was under 10% . I will not be returning.
