What a fantastic welcome we've had from everyone in and around Battle. It's been busy everyday since we opened but it's been super crazy tonight, tomorrow is already looking virtually full.

Unlike our Hastings restaurant you are able to just pop in for a alcoholic drink or coffee without having to eat. We also have USB ports in certain areas so you can charge your pc or phone and aircon. Dogs are also welcome 12 to 6. We also have some local beer and wine on offer. See you all soon

Please share At last the time has come, lots of ups and downs.Whites in Battle will be opening on Tuesday the 24th at 11.00 am for meet and greet. Then straight into service from 12.00 till 9.30 for food. Staff training will be on Monday and we will be taking bookings from 12.30 that day. Tel number will be put on FB then. We have a few staff from Hastings coming over and some new staff from Battle. So we will have a few hiccups for the first few days I'm sure. A few pictures just to show you how far we have come in 3 month's. We need a holiday

So a little update, everything is coming along swimmingly. Toilets nearly done main floor goes down next week. Kitchen nearly fully kitted out and we have a new chef. He will be working along Joe who has been promoted to 2nd chef. He started at whites as a kitchen porter 3 years ago from Hastings college and worked his way up the ladder. I could count on one hand the amount of times he has been late or been off sick in 3 years. Well done young man. So getting back to Battle we think around 3 weeks. We will be taking bookings hopefully in a couple of weeks.

Hip hip hooray Whites of Battle is a go. Very exciting times for us as a company. All we need now is staff LOL, we do have a few of our staff joining us in Battle from Hastings to keep the continuity going. But we will need a Head Chef, K.P, and full and part-time waitresses. We will be putting a advert on Indeed with full details of the posts we have. Please SHARE this fab news with everyone.

So today is the day that we get the decision from Rother Council about change of use for our Battle restaurant. Fingers crossed

service was excellent, unobtrusive but never very far away, even though it was getting busy.



food was very good though my linguine could have been a bit spicier. however, i do have an asbestos mouth so it would suit most people’s tastes.



only drawback, i wanted to eat my way through the menu, even though i was replete.

Went there last night and the atmosphere was amazing the food was out of this world!and the owner is such a lovely caring person she really went out her way to make sure the customers were happy � this was exactly what battle needed something classy �

Went for birthday lunch, must admit it was gone 2oclock!! Did not realise they closed at 3!!

But the girls did not rush us, which was nice,.

It was alovely lunch, i had the crab&prawn salad the crab was tasty, the only complaint was the prawns were abit tastless, my husband had the garlic chicken leg which he said was lovely. all in all alovely lunch, we always look forward to going back when were in Hastings .

We went there for lunch on the opening day and it was amazing well done Alex and Ellie hope to see you again soon xxx

We went last night, food and service were second to none. We had pre-ordered as a group of 8, our meals arrived without a hiccup and they knew all our names too. Haven't been to Whites for ages but the food was so delicious I will be back very soon for more ���

We had lunch at the new Battle restaurant today and were so happy did. It looks great, and the food was gorgeous - the prawns and muscles were top quality. The staff were really nice. The deserts were also lovely - the cheesecake was amazing and it all tasted freshly made and not frozen / synthetic like they often do. Finally we have a much needed, proper restaurant in Battle!

We are for the second time in here, and have to say that everything was perfect, the taste, the service and the atmosphere, definitely come back again. Thank you all.

Me and my wife came to whites on a recommendation from a friend.

We were not disappointed. The food we had was amazing. The staff were very polite and helpful ( ray ) went that extra mile and was very professional.

Very comfortable restaurant.

The price was good as we ate like kings and Queens.

Will definitely be going back in the new year.

Lovely food and service as always my husband ordered fish pie but it was sadly dropped in the kitchen it was the last one and they couldn’t be more apologetic. He ordered the fish and chips and got an extra healthy portion and money of the bill. Can’t wait to come back our favourite restaurant

Last night was our first date night in a good 10 months and my husband surprised me with a train ride and a visit to your fabulous restaurant ( possibly due to many hints from me over the last few months).

It did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the staff and service was spot on! Being a massive (slightly obsessed ) seafood lover, it was everything I hoped it would be and more.

Can't wait to visit again!!! Thank you :-)

Our youngest was offered a colouring sheet and they altered the pudding options to suit him. We will eat here again.

Came down today for the special lunch time menu, was superb, excellent value for money, huge portions! We will definitely be back, thank you!

Battle’s new Whites - we tried it today on opening and were greeted warmly by Ellie and her friendly team. The decor is fabulous, they’ve clearly worked so hard at getting it right. We liked the little touches like the chapel benches in keeping with the buildings history but also the modern bistro lighting and furnishings. They’ve put a lot of thought into those visiting with young families (crayons and colouring in, high chairs, kids menu, changing table in the bathroom) - which we appreciated with our 10 month old and 5 year old. But I can equally imagine having a romantic meal for two here. We loved our milkshakes, and � burgers and the fabulous air con (!) and look forward to trying out the rest of the menu during future visits. Welcome to Battle and we wish you every success! X

Absolutely the best piece of plaice I have ever had. The chicken wings which I had for starters were so tender and more of a main course. The food was piping hot. I shall definitely be going there again.

Lovely food spoiled by a very loud next table that had my mum on edge. Not something that Whites can control.

Today at lunch time we sat outside and ordered 2 glasses white wine

My husband went in to order 2 starters as we only wanted something light to eat

The waitress , told us we had to order 3 starters ! Or 2 main meals ! We did not want 3 starts or 2 mains

So decided not to order

Apparently the reason was 2 starters is not enough to compensate the wine



Completely gob smacked



She was more than happy to let us drink the wine

one of the worst meals I have ever had. the food was completely inedible. One member of our party got given a dodgy chair and broke his finger on it. I asked to speak to the manager to register my displeasure only to be told that the manager was too busy to come and speak to me. This is appalling, the manager should have made themselves available. I will never go to this restaurant again
