Whithorn Gundogs offers puppy, obedience and gundog training in an outdoor environment using positive reinforcement and over ten years of experience!

I have grown up around animals over time have developed not just a passion for dogs but for training them too. There is nothing more satisfying than starting out with a young puppy who knows very little and turning it into an obedient, loving and happy dog. I have found that I get this joy whether the dog in question belongs to me or to one of my clients. I like to think that I am firm and fair in my training methods and I always try to get the best out the dogs that train with me through the use of positive training methods, giving the dog the best opportunity to get things right - I believe this leads to producing a happy dog who loves to come to training!
I am more than happy to speak to you about any issues that you and your dog are facing, however trivial or large you may feel the problem is I am sure I can help! Not only do I offer 1-2-1 sessions where we can go through issues and training on a more personal level but I also offer group classes which are hugely beneficial. In group classes your puppies can learn to socialise and your older dogs can learn a bit of patience! Many clients also say that they find talking to other people in the group very helpful and reassuring as many people are coming up against the same problems. My biggest aim with every dog owner whether your dog is large or small, working or a pet is to make sure that you enjoy them!
