Whittlebury Hall 1905 suite.

We had the pleasure of working here yesterday.

I have worked with many venues and I have to say this was one of the best experiences with regards to customer care.

The event team where spot on and worked brilliantly along side team Events in a Box or maybe that’s the other way round as we invaded their space! However the experience was a total delight. Nothing was too much trouble.

Slick, efficient, accommodating and the food was really great too.

Getting married? Certainly one to add to the list of venues to pop in and see.

What a fabulous day we had yesterday. It was my daughters birthday so what better way to celebrate than at Whittlebury Hall. The team are amazing, the facilities superb, and the lunch was delicious with an excellent selection to choose from. Our treatments were wonderful, I had one of the Elemis bio-tec facials and the results were amazing! The relaxation areas , beautiful. Try the warm waterbeds in the whispering area...😴 . We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful day.

Just returned from our weekend away. We booked an a spa break. Never been here before. It was very busy and I was glad we arrived at check in time 10am. We left our bags at hotel reception and then checked into the spa. There were a number of big female groups checking in and so I felt lucky to get a locker. They do need to have more loungers for the pool side but to be honest if you're prepared to just swim or chill in the sauna then one will become available.

We were very impressed with how clean the spa was. The staff were very friendly. Lunch is nice although it felt like a free for all at the buffet. Give it a few mins and they restock and there is room.

The evening meal was amazing and the selection at breakfast was lovely. We were stuffed.

We had a treatment late afternoon which was nice but we were a little annoyed as we'd bough slippers there (£6 each) and we had been given a £10 off vouch3r to book a treatment on the day. We couldn't use it as they were fully booked. A little upsetting and I didn't see the point in offering the voucher.

There is a whisper area at the treatment area if you want somewhere quite to sit. This isn't mentioned at all and by the time we had found it we had our room ready.

We'd upgraded to a club room which offered a fridge and a coffee machine. I'd have loved to have used the cover machine but had no idea about what pod was what coffee and when we asked house keeping the person we spoke to didn't speak very good English and Didnt understand. We did ask reception and they said we would have to ask house keeping. We gave up. Had a go but I think I got it wrong.

our bed was very nice and we had a lovely sleep. It was quite considering how busy the hotel was.

I would book this again but if i wanted any other treatments I think that I would book them in advance.

Had a lovely over night stay, staff were excellent. Food was good, only down fall . I regustered my bank card , me and my daughter had few drinks and had a letter underneath advising us to pay our bill of 28 pounds, hadnt even checked out. Very dissapointed,

Stayed for one night with meal in astons, lovely meal and staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was a good selection.

Our room in the paddocks was Nice and clean but was nothing special, (similar quality to a premier inn room in my opinion).

We used the pool and saunas in evening and was just us in there, Although the whirlpools were not working at that time the pool and saunas were good and clean.

Nice changing rooms but shower room showing signs of wear.

It was very annoying that the next morning us males had to use a small changing room upstairs and then have to walk through the reception to get back and forth to pool. Even a staff member and a regular member I spoke to who were using same changing room / facilities were not happy and said it's a regular weekend thing.

Overall though was a nice night away and would easily visit again.

Overall lovely experience: it was booked for my partners birthday. We booked the Signature Spa overnight stay and upgraded to a club room and although pricey it is well worth it!

The only minor issues was cooked breakfast was cold and poor quality howeve could not fault the continental. And we were woken up in the night by loud guests in the hall way and a loud shower around 0600 however appreciate not much can Be done about other guests.

The hall/hotel is beautiful with stunning grounds, the choices and quality of the dinner included were excellent: a lovely fine dining experience. Drinks are not included and are pricey, but as expected.

All staff were lovely and very helpful and we will be visiting again!

User

used to be amazing haven't been for about 5 years, went back this evening, getting run down. food in the evening spa package average, used to be so much choice now quite simplistic. generally looked untidy around main pool area , marked and stained cushions.

such a shame as I always used to rave about it to all my friends. staff didn't seem to be doing an awful lot. except for the lovely lady on day spa reception who seemed to be manning the whole thing and was rushed off her feet.

don't think we will be rushing back.

User

Overall a nice experience. Staff in both the hotel and spa very polite. Massage was amazing! Hotel was very clean and tidy with a comfy bed. Just a shame you only get 45 minutes for lunch, by the time we queued to get in and then for food we had 20 minutes to eat. Dinner service felt very rushed. Overall a positive experience but I’m not sure I would return.

User

Needs a bit of TLC in spa areas. Stairways AND rooms.

But the spa was good. Very very busy. Too busy. Obviously over booked. One lady we spoke to said she had booked in November for her daughters 21st for a spa day plus accommodation. Even though she had the confirmation they didn’t have a room for them so they had to go. Sooo not on!! ........

Treatment fab. Food fab. Drinks expensive.

We had drinks back in the room after dinner and we had management knocking on the door. Wouldn’t mind if it was 1am but this was 11pm!!!! Give us a break. Jesus!!!

Seems like a girlie place definitely.

My daughter and I went as a treat for her 21st, as our information stated we needed to be there for 9am We decided to go the night before and booked to stay in a Paddock room, which was clean but basic,(Would prefer Premier Inn to be honest) we had booked a twin room but found a double bed, however, call to reception and housekeeping promptly changed it. Bed was quite hard and we both woke up with stiff backs.

Its quite a walk to the main building so we drove as it was raining heavily. Breakfast was lovely , lots of choice and hot.

We then had a Spa day booked, I wrongly thought a Monday would be quiet, but was very wrong, was actually very disappointed with the Spa facilities, 1 foot spa was broken as was one of the experience showers.

Couldn't quite fathom out the point of the Caladarium room and as for the Tepidarium, the noise from the Spa area literally vibrated round the walls, It would have been more relaxing at an Olympic size pool on a kids fun day!

Pool area was busy too but we did manage to eventually find a couple of sunbeds and spent the afternoon reading. Ordered drinks from the pool cafe and after half an hour had to go and ask again as they had obviously forgotten them and another couple who had ordered in front of us.

Had also ordered afternoon tea, very tasty but vastly overpriced and would have preferred to have had it in a bar in the hotel rather than the pool cafe. Massage treatment was good, although 5 mins short.

Overall was quite disappointed with the whole experience. Wouldn't bother to go again.

I went on the 30th December with my two girls. It was very busy at checkout and lockers were not easy to come by as very busy. The worst thing was the Jacuzzi !! As we opened the door from changing room the smell of chlorine hit you. It burnt your eyes so much that even when I returned home late that evening they were still burning. My daughter who has asthma had to leave the pool fast crying and struggling for breath. This meant we couldn't usr it again so had to kill the time until our treatments at 5. We went to reception to tell them about my daughter and the chlorine but she really didn't listen and dismissed us rapidly !! We have been many times and this is first time it happened but can't return due to health worry.

I have just returned home from an overnight spa stay with family celebrating a birthday. The staff are wonderful, very attentive and helpful. The food was good throughout too and our room (although freezing cold initially) was quickly remedied by the maintenance. However, this was by far the busiest and least relaxing spa I have ever stayed in!!! There are no where near enough places to sit, there are approximately 40 sun loungers for what seemed like 300 spa users! Every sauna room, steam room, jacuzzi etc was jam packed and our group spent the vast amount of our day walking between the various rooms (accessed through a freezing cold corridor) looking for somewhere to sit! The only time I sat and ‘relaxed’ was outside the treatment rooms when we had tea and cake at 4.30pm. It made the spa a glorified public swimming baths to be honest and being 7 months pregnant didn’t make for a relaxing day by any means!

That said, the ABBA party night was a great evening and ensured my aunt celebrated in style. I’m afraid I would not recommend staying here for the spa facilities though, unfortunately it’s like a meat market/spa on steroids!!

User

Gorgeous place and great facilities but if you haven’t been before no direction to where anything is, staff quite short with you. Had a lunch slot give to turn up and barely any food there, 30 mins later food refilled when most people had only 15 mins left of there time slot. Treatment good. Overall I’ve had much better time at other much cheaper spas like Bannatyne's. Big let down

User

When I arrived about seven hours ago there was a dirty room service tray outside my room...

...which is still there!

For the last four hours the room next to me has had the TV on VERY loudly. I’m guessing the people staying there must have died as I have been knocking for over an hour but no response. I have tried calling reception, but the ‘phone in my room doesn’t work. I guess I either walk across to reception in the main building (I'm in The Paddocks) or call them from my mobile.

Great shower though! Which is good, as I'm going to be needing that in a few hours as I attempt to be awake enough to face a full day at work followed by a 4 hour drive home.

Not a great experience!

User

Just had a day spa with you , was really looking forward to it .

Sadly the service is shocking , it’s non existent!

You would think with your guests that come for the day you would make sure they had the best service which would mean they would return ??

We will be returning back to Champneys for the same price you receive the best service & they go that extra mile with their little extras they do for you at no extra cost !

User

I refer only to the luxury suite or what was supposed to be luxury it was in fact a complete mess from dirty to cushions with holes in etc a very sad state of affairs . I have been given £80 back out of the hundreds that I paid . Very poor suite indeed never stay in the Eden Suite .

User

Writing on behalf of a friend due to her not having Facebook. "The staff were very rude at book in (video evidence) and could tell a lot of them had very poor personal hygiene. After finally finding our room showers did not work properly and the sheets had a very musty smell to them. There was a huge wait to the spa which I found stupid. Breakfast was absolutely awful and when cold. Worse hotel I have been to and will not be coming back again"

User

Unprofessional and disorganised check-in/reception area where staff did not give one to one service.

Several facilities / experiences still not working - steam room, foot-spa, warm bench, experience showers.

Tatty and old furnishings on terrace at pool area where some of the seat cushions were ripped and falling apart.

Staff who simply did not understand simple requests as English wasn't their first language.

Large parties reserving several beds at the pool area and then going off for a coffee, then when we spoke to the staff they did not seem to have the common sense how to deal with the situation and we had to repeatedly explain in simple terms what to do which was very frustrating.

Attention to detail and general basic understanding of what a good level of customer service looks like severely lacking - we were not even asked how our day had been or if we had enjoyed ourselves when we checked out.

This was a complementary day from your guest relations manager as the previous time we visited my daughter ate some gluten free pasta which was NOT gluten free and ended up being very ill.

Please invest some of the tens of thousands of pounds you are earring in decent, well-trained staff who understand how to speak with guests and organise some engineers to fix the rooms and experiences which have not been working for months/ years!

Unless we are offered compensation we will NOT be back.
