*Muscles on Monday* A recent article in an Athletics weekly indicated that in any year 70% of all runners are injured - enough to stop them training! The majority of these are in the leg below the knee -Calf muscles, Achilles Tendon(and some of the other 16 tendons that run down in to the foot), Anterior Tibialis(runs down the outside edge of the shin bone, Peroneal muscle, Shin splints( which is actually a calf muscle problem- Soleus) not to mention Plantar Fasciitis!! All ...of these are a result of lower leg muscular disfunction. Traditional stretching is not effective in their healing process (strained muscles need 4 weeks to complete the healing process) due to the pennate structure of most of the muscles. Quality massage, however, is effective, especially when supported by daily self massage. Invest in your Muscles give us a call. Andrew 07769581691. Jess 07949420438

***Muscles on Monday*** Human tissue cannot be stretched! We cannot change the length of muscle fibres any more than we can change the length of our bones. To Improve flexibility and get rid of 'tightness'(whatever that is) our muscles must be persuaded to behave differently. So called "stretching exercises" have no impact on muscle fibres as it is not possible to influence the muscle fibres by pulling on the ends of the muscles. Movement and massage can provide the stimulus for improving the condition and performance of the muscles. You can provide the movement and we can provide the Massage. invest in your muscles-call us today!

Why is sports massage important for athletes?
To keep your body in optimal condition and get the most from your chosen sport! When putting our muscles under stress we cause small amounts of damage that can build up over time. Regular sports massage can help break down and prevent these adhesions from building up and leading to pain and dysfunction. ūüí™

Prevention is better than cure! Regular deep tissue massage can help prevent the build of tension in muscles and the problems that occur as a result. Look after your body, you only get one ūüíÜ‚Äć‚ôāÔłŹūüíÜ‚Äć‚ôÄÔłŹ

Why should you have a Sports Massage if you don't do any sport?
To counteract all the sitting we do now! Our lifestyles are increasingly sedentary, whether spending hours commuting, sitting at a desk or playing on the floor with toddlers. All this sitting can lead to postural stress and eventually pain (usually in the lower back or shoulders/neck). A regular sports massage can help balance this out by releasing built up tension in the muscles that are neglected in day to day life!

User

Many jobs involve long hours sitting at desks. This can lead to poor posture, neck and back pain, tension headaches and higher levels of stress. Deep tissue/sports massage can help combat these issues by relaxing those muscles which are under strain and can help to reduce stress as endorphins are released as a result of the treatment. ūüėä

Sports massage is for just about everyone! It is a massage to help with issues that are usually, but not exclusively, associated with sport. It could just be general muscles tightness, a build up of tension or an ongoing issue with a certain area. If you're unsure what massage could do for you, just drop us a message :D
