Who'D A Thought It

About Who'D A Thought It

Champagne and Oyster Bar:
We are enormously proud of our extensive champagne selection which includes more than sixty varieties. With a range that includes such favourites as Moet and Chandon or Bollinger through to our prestige vintage Dom Perignon, we are confident that you will find a champagne to compliment any occasion and to match any palate. We find that there is nothing quite like a glass of bubbles to accompany our beautifully fresh rock oysters.

Restaurant
The Who'd a Thought it is a lovely restored sixteenth-century building set in the delightful Kentish countryside and is the perfect setting for any meal. Our sumptuously-decorated restaurant is ideal for more formal occasions, while the terrace and delightful gardens offer guests an al fresco dining experience in warmer weather. We offer two distinctly diverse menus, each one providing a wide and varied choice of delicious home-made food including meat, fish and pasta. Choose between modern English dishes and fine dining; house specialities include Chateaubriand and The Who'd A Thought It's signature Plateau Rouge, a sumptuous and eye-catching selection of seafood.

Accommodation
At the Who'd a Thought It we offer a range of luxurious, highly individual rooms and suites. Stay in luxury in one of our classically furnished rooms, compete with romantic four-poster beds, or perhaps opt for one of our contemporary rooms, which are a fusion of modern-yet-elegant design design and sumptuous fabrics. These also feature fabulously indulgent jacuzzi baths and hot tubs.

What a late review!! Stayed here in June after being in London for a couple of days. We then got the train to this amazing place! It is 100% the best place I have ever been. We got lost at the train station and Joe the owner come and picked us up straight away. We had an absolute scream and cannot wait to come back! Great accommodation, great food and drink and amazing company. Thank you for a great birthday

User

We stayed here last night!

Was absolutely amazing!

The decor is outstanding, worth paying for the extra for hot tub terrace and indoor hot tub all the extra touches made it so special free Champaign which was the best I’ve had r date! Chocolates, dressing gowns slippers lots more to much to list, air con lighting controls coffee machine in room, drinks brought over to our lodge!

We had so much fun celebrating, staff were great very friendly and all though very busy met every request quickly!

Restaurant is pricey, but you get what you pay for an amazing top class dinner, reasonable price drinks! We stayed in the LP Alexandra & it was so worth the money!

Free breakfast in the morning, it was so nice never fealt so relaxed

Thankyou to the managers and staff what an amazing place you have and are running!

Hoping we will get to come back, with 5 young kiddys it’s not easy getting a night away so this was a massive treat xxxx

User

We held our wedding reception in the Grand Whody Marquee on Saturday 21st April, the venue is absolutely stunning! The food was amazing!!

Joe's team went above and beyond to make our day special, especially Barbara, she was fantastic!!

Also Thank you to Alex for un-buttoning my dress and getting all the hair pins out!! And Sarah Thank you for all your help, Thank you so much for making our wedding, our guests had the best time! We've made some very special memories.

User

We had an amazing night in the Alexandra room to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, every little detail was perfect, the most luxurious place I've ever been to, friendly staff, we wasnt too keen on the 'posh' evening menu so we opted for bar menu but ate in the lovely restaurant, couldn't fault anything, we are looking at all the rooms as to where we can stay next time.

User

Stayed here last night in the Roderer Crystal room. Wow fantastic. Super clean, champagne and chocs in fridge thank you for those plus Clarins beauty products to use. Top quality. The outside hot tub was amazing. This was booked for my husbands special birthday and our stay was amazing. The staff were so friendly and happy the food in the restaurant was exquisite lovely atmosphere too. Amazing free breakfast in the morning included so much menu choice. Thank you to all at Who'd a thought it we will return.

User

Stayed here as a gift from my husband for my 50th birthday. I loved the complimentary strawberry’s dipped in chocolate made for us!

The room was lovely (16) Versace with a hot tub outside.

Ate in the restaurant with some fantastic food, well cooked, served and presented. Value for money. A lovely bottle of wine , which wasn’t extortionately priced!

A great stay well worth a visit and we will be back!!

User

Stayed her Saturday Night - staff were friendly , food was amazing and plenty of it , scenery was lovely. Only think I’d comment on is I didn’t get in the hot tub as was dirty (not water but all stones and bits at bottom) and pillows were extremely lumpy. Apart from that had an amazing chilled night - especially loved the indoor jacuzzi x

User

Myself and my boyfriend stayed one night it was lovely bit cheesy but in a good way owner was very helpful and all staff were really friendly food is amazing great surroundings lovely gardens room was fine we stayed in a mini room and it was great thanks again would stay here again xx

User

My boyfriend took me here for my 21st and we had the best stay. The rooms were magnificent, clean and extravagant. Our room had 2 jacuzzis, one inside and one outside, therefore whatever the weather we could use them! The food was delicious, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and couldn't fault any of it. The staff were polite and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend and would like to stay again!

User

Just had an amazing weekend in the newly refurbished Laurent Perrier room cannot fault anything at all.

Everyone was lovely from the cleaners to hosts a must go to Hotel and we are so lucky as very close by.

User

I stayed here in the Ace of spades room with my partner back in August for my 50th birthday.Cannot fault the place the room was completely spotless the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We could not of asked for more. The Swarovski Crystal bath was out of this world. This place deserves 5*****.x

User

Had a great time celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. My husband had the curry and said he would drive an hour just to have that again! All the staff made us very welcome (especially Simon who took time out of his busy schedule to show us round lots of the rooms) the Gins r to die for with Joe casually throwing in grapefruit and orange zest to add to the taste! Will certainly be going back and recommending to friends. Thankyou for having us x

User

Been here several times now, but today Mother’s Day was beyond expectations, food was amazing, as was the service and the staff. Think this menu should be available every Sunday, and as for the Mother’s Day gift, just wow, thank you all, you made our Mother’s Day amazing xx

User

Absolutely amazing room we loved it. Real boutique hotel. Stayed in the LP Alexander room 5* beautiful room with big jacuzzi bath and private hot tub. Food was amazing and staff friendly and go out of there way for what you want. We can’t wait to come back and try another room.

User

Went with family for Sunday lunch. Thought the decoration of the place was a bit over the top but that is my personal opinion, other people might love it. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Lapsong Smoked Trout. My one quibble wpuld be that the prices on the menu were dearer than those on the website.

User

Staff were brilliant and the presentation of the food was super... however, for how beautiful it looked.. it should have tasted better. Over cooked chicken on a bed of spinach and a fried slab of potato - £18. Lobster and king prawn linguine.. that tasted like a jar of creamy tomato pasta bake sauce from a local supermarket - £22

Would have been more than happy to pay that price for something that tasted good! Wasn't what we thought it would be.

User

Am feeling quite mixed after visiting.. we booked a night as a mini moon as got married a few days before.. we dis mention this

we arrived at 215pm we were planning to have some snacks and drinks but the lady on reception shortly said theres no way your room will be ready yet its 3pm check in.. so we left and went else where.. we went back later and room was ready.. on 1st glance the room is lovely but was dissapointed to fimd cobwebs and a squashed bug on one wall and mouldy curtians.. the free bottle of champgane is aldi own brand.. we may as well not of booked direct...

the hot tub speakers didnt work. Dinner was lovely although I ordered the seafood platter for 1 but wish the lady said was big enough for 2 as was massive another table had been given a free meal which we though was rude to say imfront of other guests.. when we asked to pay the guy said are you the ones with a voucher i said no but dont mind having one haha..

Breakfast was ok.

I think over all we had high hopes esp as was a minimoon didnt expect anything but maybe congratulations or thank you for staying with us would of been nice.... I do think £300 is quite expensive when other similar hotles that we have stayed in you get more for your money... glad we tried it but not sure be going back

User

We arrived on Saturday around 3pm world cup England playing all seemed great antill we got in our room and found 2 condom wrappers on the floor dead flys on the wall.

How ever dinner was lovley only small but was tasty.

Bar staff running around like head less chickens.

I don't like the fact that bad staff where rat arsed by end off night giving worldcup ok a few drinks.

Morning comes go for break fast never ever have I had such break fast in my life let's just say I wouldn't feed the dog it was awful. Eldely lady trying her best to take orders as no other staff there when she opened.

Won't be staying again.

Sean and I decided to go for a meal tonight and chose the “who’d a thought it” pub at Grafty Green....after an hour sitting in an empty restaurant I complained about the wait. After an hour and 15 minutes the food came and was not much short of terrible. Sean asked the waitress why what he got was not what was stated on the menu and she replied “ it’s a typing error” ! Seriously ? On a printed menu? She went on to say sorry but they had a new chef but who was the best and served high quality food! Really ? He first wants to learn how to drain oil from a serving plate then....

The manager came and was defensive, argumentative and not In the least apologetic much less embarrassed as he should have been, embarrassed at poor quality food and appalling service. We left without eating after the first mouthful and without paying and will not be going back . Can’t remember the last time a visit to a pub/restaurant was so bad....
