Our monthly charity quiz night is for motor neurone disease association, one of our regulars Ray Bolch will be hosting this for us ! £3 to enter the quiz Or £10 for entry with food (burger and chips or Hotdogs and chips)

The fancy dress has now been decided details on the event! Prizes for the best dressed and cocktails on arrival

The chosen charity for this quiz is the Poppy Appeal

We are hosting a Christmas party this year ! Drink deals , nibbles , Christmas music and a lot of fun ! The fancy dress for this event has now been decided. Take your pick from any character from any Christmas film, you could be Elf, the Grinch, someone from Home Alone, or Bruce Willis from Die Hard (cue the debate as to whether it’s a Christmas film). Take you pick think outside the box. Cocktails on arrival for those who dress up and prizes for the best dressed! We hope you all can make it !

The atmosphere and the food is excellent at the Wilkes! I take my family there to eat ☺

On National Fish and Chip day, 8 of us descended on a pretty busy Friday eve and we were all very happy with the 7 fresh fish and chips (and 1 ham, egg and chips - there’s always one person!). Fish was really nicely cooked and it had a lovely light homemade beer batter �All plates arrived in rapid succession, no one was left waiting. Great team making sure everything was as expected. Good selection of ales and drinks. 8 people left with nothing but good things to say �

Nice friendly pub very good beer's and a nice big garden to sit in as well as covered seating I use here quite a lot ���

A really nice local, tucked away in Eastergate. Two small bars are complimented with a beer garden. Ales change regularly, and always served well. Friendly staff too, which makes this our "go-to after-work pub"!!!

A proper Pub with constantly changing range of real Ale on tap. Good food and all very reasonably priced. And the bar staff are lovely !!!!

A great little pub, very busy on a Sunday lunchtime with drinkers and diners so book a table in the dining area (note dogs not allowed in this area but are allowed in the rest of the pub). The food is homemade, delicious and generous portions. No menu but chalked on the board so I suspect it changes regularly. Today we had Lamb shank roast, Plaice & chips, proper suet steak & kidney pudding and chilli.
