Powerboat restoration recap for Monday: this original 1969 Cowes Torquay powerboat, Prawn Cocktail underwent extensive renovation works after decades abandoned outside. We striped her, fully renovated the structure, complete new deck structure, cockpit, transom repaired, mechanically fitted out with a V8 mercruiser (underpowered compared to her original set up as she is somewhat of a show gal now). running gear replaced or overhauled, new fuel system, fire system, and every i...tem restored or replaced to look as she did back in the day.

XOD X59 IONA. She underwent major restoration due to a rotten hog and garboards, and 25years laid up. She received a strip to the bare bones, epoxy treatment, splining, new timbers, re-nail, new deck beams, new deck (sheathed and clearcoated), epifanes varnish, full Awlgrip paint in a custom mix Will Squibb blue, and finally sign written using epifanes polyurethane and gold paint.

The big winter refit, this stunning Oyster 46 is on her way to Belgium. She has seen several thousand hours of the skilled team here, seeing a full Raymarine upgrade, interior joinery modifications including removing a workshop and installing a full bunk berth similar to Oysters original spec. A full heating system routed and fitted, engine and generator overhauls, teak renovation, bespoke tables, binnacle hoops, fridge installations, waste system management and the list goes on.

Pre bank holiday madness
Big rigs all stepped, last Svyc mermaid launched, larger draught late night launches, rudder stocks machined, fabricated, laminated. Water makers installed, plotter systems upgraded, as well as the background servicing, anti fouling, polishing and on and on. That’s just this week so far. Shout out again to the team that make it happen as it wouldn’t come together as relatively straight forward as it would without all the guys and gals.
Thankfully most... of the customers appreciate what we do to ensure they have a trouble free season, as much as we can 👊
