Wilson'S Alumni Network Description

Welcome to the Wilson’s Alumni Network page on Facebook.

If you are an old student (or teacher) from Wilson’s School we’d love to hear from you. We’re hoping to get in touch with as many Old Boys as possible, both from the current site in Wallington and from boys who attended the school in Camberwell. Over the next month we will be setting up a new website where you’ll be able to register and connect with other Old Boys, as well as find out about what the school is currently doing. We will be hosting social events and evenings and you’ll be able to find out all about them here and on our new website.

We want to be able to keep in touch with our Old Boys and hear how you’ve been. We also want you to be able to find other Old Boys you were at school with (as well as some you weren’t) so you can network, talk about work and generally reconnect.

If you’re in touch with any Old Wilsonians it would be great if you would let them know about this page. And if you have any ideas of how we can further promote the Alumni Network then we’d love to hear from you; please drop us an email at ALUMNI@wilsonsschool. sutton. sch. uk

Be sure to follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/wilsonsalumni
We're also on Google + (http://gplus. to /WilsonsAlumni) and LinkedIn (http://linkd. in /IrXpJo)

We’re looking forward to hearing from you all!

Sad announcement: Norman Friskney died yesterday. He had a fall three weeks ago and contracted pneumonia. The school had kept in touch with him up until very recently; it has to be admitted that he was badly shaken by the death of his wife a few years ago and has not been the same since.
The family are planning a very private funeral without flowers or donations, but possibly a memorial in the new year. We will keep you posted.

TIM HUDSON
Tim is featured in an article on the Tower of London in the new issue of The Guide, the professional tourist guide's magazine. Well worth a read! Also, as it mentions at the end, he is appearing in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Waddon Theatre and Leisure Centre, just a stone's throw from the school, till Dec 31 2017. Tickets are on sale!

Alun Lacey
Sadly we must report that Alun Lacey has passed away aged 61 after a long fight against ill health. Old boys from the late 70s/early 80s will remember him as a teacher in the Design Technology department who involved himself vigorously in many aspects of school life including sports and field trips. The funeral service will be held on Thursday November 30th 2017 at Hereford Crematorium at 10.30.

The Wilsonian Sailing Club, Hoo, Rochester (http://wilsoniansc.org.uk). The club is thriving but the link with the school has been almost forgotten. Photos by Kevin Hemmings.

Sad to have to report that Colin White has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was Head of Music at the time of the move from Camberwell to Wallington. The funeral is confirmed for 12 noon on Tuesday 4 April at the church of St Michael and All Angels, Milton Road, Wallington, and afterwards at 1.20 pm at the North East Surrey Crematorium.
I have written a few words here: http://www.wilsons.school/alumni/news/

I made sure Bob Kennedy got a mention on the front page of this week's web site/newsletter article on rugby. Neither the rugby coach nor the Head knew anything about him (despite the fact that AFAIK they still award the Bob Kennedy memorial cup at Prize Giving). http://www.wilsons.school
