Merry Christmas everyone. The restaurant will be closed for two weeks whilst the team re-energises for the New Year. We will be closed from the 24th December and re-opening on the 9th January. We are still on the look out for an excellent individual to join our front of house team. 25 - 30 hours per week to include evenings and weekends. Sunday/ Monday off. Great hourly rate and tips. We offer a small, weekly changing menu based around exceptional ingredients many of which we have gathered, grown or hunted ourselves.
We have a fantastic wine list (our house red is really something special) mostly focusing on biodynamic and organic wines.

Wonderful place to take my family who came all the way from Essex for my mother's birthday. The food, wine, ambience, natural and friendly service made for a great evening for us all. The food was amazing and so was the appreciation from the chef for all our thanks and enjoyment! I highly recommend this little gem and I look forward to going back and being surprised with what's next on their unique menu!

What a wonderful meal. It was my birthday so I was hoping it was going to be something special. It was. From the moment we walked in we were treated to friendly, informal, informed service and simple, clean, delicious food. The limited menu is perfect for me as it shows that every little thing has been thought through, the food is fresh and seasonal and is full of taste. And, I don't take ages choosing. There was NOTHING we didn't like. This little restaurant deserves to be hugely successful.

There is nothing bad I could say about Wilsons, because there are no negatives. Jan & Mary run this unfussy, simple dining room & it’s wonderful in its simplicity. Plates are presented beautifully, are generous in portion & above all, taste delicious. The prices are reasonable considering the produce is as fresh as it can be & has been foraged or caught by Jan himself. It’s just a truly wonderful experience.

Minimalist menu delivers every time, hubbie and I love this local gem. A warm welcome from Jan the owner and his fabulous staff makes the evening special, as does the great service including help with choosing wine to go with each course. Wonderful amuse bouches are a lovely surprise between courses and ingredients are grown and sourced locally so far as possible. Last week we had local partridge and truffle, along with salsify from Jan's veg plot! Prices seem very reasonable given the top quality cooking and presentation.

Lunch at Wilson’s today was just great.....the apple dessert was fantastic!

I've just come home from a wonderful birthday meal at Wilsons. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. The owner is incredibly welcoming and friendly and has a clear passion for the food and wine he serves. He was very accomodating to our needs, including putting up with a fussy eater in our party! We would definitely recommend the restaurant. Thank you for such a lovely evening, we hope to visit again!
