Another fun quiz night at WPGC last Friday. The winning team, a last minute gathering, affectionately known as 'The Odds & Sods' combined their collective IQ's to walk off with first place ... and all the booze! From left to right, the team consisted of - Les Wong, Jim (Banksy) Whittaker, Roger Bannister, Kenny Powell, Andy Balcerkiewicz and Paul Morgan. Well played guys.

On the 4th March I will be travelling with 4 volunteers to rural Vhembe, a sub district of Limpopo, in South Africa for 11 days. We will be working with some local Health Community Workers to raise awareness of Breast Cancer.
... During the trip we will be teaching the women how to self-examine, share educative material on the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer and offer professional advice.
The trip is being organised by a charity called Cancel Cancer Africa. The vision is to reduce the rate of mortality and morbidity caused by breast cancer in rural Africa. We will be working with local Government Health Departments and collating statistics.
Working at the Parkside Hospital as a Mammographer, I know how important the early detection of breast cancer can be. We hope to teach and encourage the local women of Limpopo to realise this too.
If you are interested take a look at the website: www.cancelcancerafrica.org
I will be preparing a report for you all to read on my return at the end of March.
