Winchcombe School Association - Wispa Description
The WiSPA are a motivated bunch who enjoy organising numerous fund-raising events throughout the year - jazz nights, frog races and cycle rides to name a few. As well as buying additional equipment (for which the school doesn’t receive government funding), we pay for student ‘rewards’ for achievement, compile fabulous Christmas Hampers for raffle, and of course, help the school on occasions such as open days and performances, where refreshments are needed.
Over the past few years we're proud to have helped buy the following equipment for the School: a new minibus; laser cutter and 3D printer for the D& T Dept; sewing machines and printing press for Art Textiles; main hall sound and lighting equipment (for Drama and general use); a drum kit and p. a. equipment for the Music Dept; benches for outdoor classroom used by Science Dept; E-readers for the Library; and Christmas treats.
Last year we also earned nearly £400 from recycling – printer ink cartridges and clothes with Bag2school.
