Went on the evening buffet cruise on Saturday night - 23 June. Had a wonderful time. The buffet superb - the boat spotlessly clean - all the staff couldn't do enough to make you're trip the best - and very well organised. Nothing too much trouble. After the buffet everybody went on top deck for a boogie. Even if you didn't want to dance the views all around the lake - majestic hills up high and beautiful gardens and houses at water level were a joy to sit and watch pass by . Certainly recommend.
We went on the buffet cruise for my birthday and it was great! Food, music, staff and the glorious sunshine made my birthday extra special ďż˝
We travelled from Lakeside to Ambleside and returned with out getting off the Swan. The whole experience was very pleasurable. The seats were comfy and placed with plenty of room for my old disabled dad to manoeuvre in and out off. The toilets were accessible but the stairs leading to them were steep. I didnât notice a disabled toilet that was more accessible. The drinks were reasonably priced and the dirty cups removed in a timely manner. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The commentary was limited but informative. What always makes a boat trip worthwhile is the incredible scenery. Overall a lovely day which isnât over priced.
We sailed from Brockhole to Ambleside and then onto Bowness it was a lovely way to travel and as an extra very interesting throughout the hour journey the Skipper told everyone about the lake and its history. Would definitely recommend everyone to try the cruisers to travel or to relax .
We love doing these cruises, come down every year as the scenery is just so picturesque & there's no better way to see all the lake than going by boat! - the staff are so friendly & welcoming & obviously knowledgable about the surrounding areas & readily answer any questions! đ
We hired one of the electric boats yesterday (07/06/18) and loved every minute of our 2 hour hire.
We shall definitely return and do the same but for longer
We can't thank Windermere Lake Cruises enough for helping us to have our perfect wedding day. Jacqui was amazing, friendly, and very professional from start to finish when helping us book and organise our evening lake cruise as part of our wedding reception. She worked hard to put everything in place for us and accommodate what we wanted (e.g. a band played during the cruise). The Tern boat is truly stunning and its crew were fantastic and friendly to us and our guests. Everyone has been commenting on how much they enjoyed it, saying it was the highlight of our wedding, and we agree! Thank you so much for all your hard work and contributing to our dream day! Louise & Graeme xx
Very nice clean boats. We travelled to Ambleside on the smaller blue boat, which was very nice and clean. We came back on the bigger boat the Teal. Only issue I had were the seats were a little bit uncomfortable. Maybe some seat cushions would be good. Other that that the trip was excellent. I only live in Lancaster approximately 35 to 40 minutes away. And will definitely be going back very soon.
Travelled on the tern from lakeside and back fell for the idillic and picture perfect scenery want to live on that lake!
Rigbyâs Mini travel come to the lakes quite often , and think This is one of the best boat trips around ,every time I bring people they always come away saying it was Fantastic, The staff are very pleasant ,and itâs a nice little treat for the passengers when they get free tea or coffee on the boat
Nice day out up to bowness with the wife and boys 4 and 10. The combination of train and steamer gives for really nice views at a relaxed pace. The joys of been a LA14 resident discount passes and having the lakes in our back garden.
Lovely place to visit, staff are all very friendly and helpful. Nice trip up to Ambleside walk around and back again. Great day out for the whole family including the dog.
Hired a small electric boat yesterday with my partner Samantha.
We had a fantastic time on Windermere
So glad we did it, we initially were in two minds due to the cost (around ÂŁ56 for 2 hours)
But itâs absolutely worth every penny
The boat was easy to operate and we went wherever on the lake we wanted
I canât recommend it enough
Having a Cruise on Lake Windermere is a must for any visitor to the Lake District. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly, imparting lots of facts about Windermere and itâs history, well known or renowned residents from the ages. A great trip and well worth a visit.
Fantastic time great information given on board cruise def worth doing the cruise n walk stop off in ammbleside then on to wray castle to start the walk great day out x
Came up to their lake's for our wedding anniversary, Sun was shining lovely an warm an had a lovely sail on windermere, was the last sail of the day an not the longest but plan to come again soon an take a longer cruise, but thourley enjoyed our time in Windermere
What a wonderful way to see the Windermere so beautiful, lovely sunny evening listening to jazz and a meal on board. People dancing in the setting sun light. Thanks to all the crew on the swanđ
The place is picture perfect but be warned it's 40p to use the loo it's ÂŁ2 for a take away tea from a burger bar they have you over they don't like townies but they want to take your cash I pay happy for quality but I don't like being had over petty complaints but one public loo with no shop to get change and they charge 40p ďż˝ shady greed
Not as family friendly as made out. We bought tickets from Bowness to Ambleside. Whilst waiting for the boat to arrive, our 5 month old baby needed breast feeding. My wife asked the attendant for the required key to the toilets, who in turn said that she would have to walk to the public toilets up the road. The toilets at the ticket office are customer toilets, but they simply couldnât be bothered getting the key for her. She ultimately ended up breast feeding our daughter while sat on the jetty. Degrading!
