4D ULTRASOUND FACT SHEET
4D technology uses sound waves that are out of the range of human hearing so your baby will not be aware of the scan taking place. For good clear imaging, we need a pool of amniotic fluid around baby’s face. To get the very best 4D images it’s important that your baby is in a face upward position However the images of your baby’s face will be affected by anything that blocks or reduces the sound waves or causes a shadow, the umbilical cord, baby’s hands and feet.
Babies position also plays a large part in the clarity of the images. If baby is cuddled in to the wall of the womb or placenta your imaging will be hazy. We can try to encourage movement by asking you to roll onto your side, sometimes taking a walk around is also needed. Our policy is to try our best for you on the day, unfortunately this means we may over run on our scan times. Please be patient every client is very important to us.
Our clinic offers pregnancy scans at all gestastions from 16 - 40 weeks of pregnancy and all our sonographers are fully trained in clinical & diagnostic ultrasound. All our scans are started with a well-being check of baby and if they feel there could be a problem with baby we will explain as fully as we are able and speak to your midwife with your permission.

We had the best experience this weekend at Window to the Womb in Birmingham. We upgraded our Gender Scan to the Gender Reveal Package and it so worth every penny being able to share the excitement and find it what we were having with our friends and family. The whole experience from arriving on the day to our sonographer to popping the balloon was so amazing and a memory we will never forget. Thank you! Xxx
We had our rescan today and service was excellent again. Baby behaved today and so got some great pictures. We were given plenty of time to choose and all staff were welcoming and helpful. We have told all our pregnant friends so they can have a great experience too!
We had our gender scan with a 4D peek today and had the best day! What an amazing overwhelming experience! From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcomed. Everyone was so lovely and helpful and the sonographer was so friendly too. Having had a private scan previously at a different place, the difference was huge. Window To the Womb really took care of us and was able to find our babies gender easily at 16+3. We added the upgrade to get the heartbeat teddy and the video to keep of the full scan. The app feature is great and we have access to all of our scan photos. Thank You so much for an amazing day to remember. We would love to return later on in our pregnancy for a 4D scan.
We Had a well being scan this evening , the lady's went above and beyond for us after a difficult day with hospital visits . I honestly can't rate them enough . Thank you , you don't realise how much you made our bad day into something we will never forget , perfect memory .Thank you again �
Today we came to see our baby, we brought both grandmothers and our sons. We chose the gender reveal package and WOW from start to finish it was such a lovely experience! Thank you to all of you and we are having a baby girl!

In my last pregnancy we had a scan with a different company and it was not a very good experience. At window to the womb, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the whole atmosphere was just lovely. The staff were excited with us to find out what gender our baby was. I honestly couldn’t recommend you enough for a gender scan and just having that extra reassurance that baby was ok was fab!
I have had 2 scans here one at 11 weeks and 1 at 16 weeks , I paid 4 a reassurance one as my sister early this year miscarriages but with no signs they reassured me and made me feel at ease ; me and my partner then went 4 a gender scan and I closed my eyes again to make sure everything is all healthy which it was , they spent alot of time checking the baby over and then finding the sex which we are delighted to say we are having a girl and we are over the moon ��
I came for a reassurance scan a couple of weeks ago and by mistake I had wrote down the wrong time so I was half an hour late but the staff where lovely and said it was still okay to come in. I saw baby with my partner and two children, it was such a lovely experience and I can't wait to come back in a few months when baby is bigger ���
Had our 4D scan today and had such a great time. The staff were wonderful and helpful with everything. Baby was a little stubborn but we got there in the end. Great atmosphere and we had a lovely morning meeting our baby.
Had my 4D - well being baby checks yesterday. Felt very welcomed and cared for (the jelly is even warmed up before placing on your bump!). Loved meeting my little one on the screen with my loved ones included in the room with me, the sonographer was very reassuring and let me know which bit of baby was bit, which was helpful as it is hard to be sure when baby is moving around! Lovely to have the opportunity to have a sneak of who and what baby looks like, would recommend Window to the Womb Birmingham to everybody <3

Had a 4D scan today, I absolutely loved it seeing my baby boy on the screen was amazing, he kept putting his hands up by his face but staff made sure i got some lovely photos, staff were lovely and friendly, cant wait to meet my baby now, Thank you for a lovely experience.
Had a 16 week gender scan and I couldn’t rate window to the womb any higher. Made me feel comfortable and explained everything clearly. The scan was very detailed and got to listen to my baby’s heartbeat. Polite, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend
From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out we was made to feel welcome! All of the staff was lovely and made our scan special for all the family! Our panda teddy with heart beat in is an amazing extra � we did our gender reveal there with a canon ���� would highly recommend! Thank you so much!
First time visiting here today and the staff are very friendly and a made my experience a wonderful moment finding out I was having a boy. They have a number of screens for all the family to see baby on screen and a big one for myself, I would recommend. I will be coming back again.

Came to window to the womb Birmingham to get a 4D scan done. First time baby was in an awkward position but got a few images, so they offered to rescan 2nd time baby wasn’t in a great position at all with no images so they were generous enough to allow me to have 1 more final scan with no luck but did get a few wonderful images and measurements. Couldn’t recommend enough was such a great experience and lovely staff, thank you x
Came to Window to the Womb for my 4D VIB baby scan, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming and made my experience very enjoyable. We got to upgrade to The HD scan and got to see our baby girl and left without of pictures and a teddy with her heartbeat in! Would definitely recommend the Birmingham branch to anyone looking for a 4D scan.
