Ultrasound Scanning
Ultrasound is very high frequency sound waves, well above the perception of the human ear so your baby will not be aware of the scan in any way. 3D and 4D ultrasound uses exactly the same technology as hospital 2D ultrasound scanning.
2D ultrasound gives imaging in 2 dimensions and is used in diagnostic examinations.
We are privileged to be able to offer you and your family an amazing and realistic first look at your baby with a unique Window to the Womb 3D /4D Ultrasound Baby Scan.
Whilst just as safe as the traditional 2D scan that you will have at your hospital, a 3D /4D /HD ultrasound scan can help you get up close and personal with your unborn baby in a way that you never thought possible thanks to the combination of our years of experience, our trained team and our amazing equipment. From a yawn to a stretch, your 2D /3D /4D /HD ultrasound session can give you a realistic first introduction to your baby in their protected world!
3D ultrasound gives images in 3-dimensions, in other words still pictures
4D ultrasound gives imaging in the fourth dimension, giving us real-time movement of your baby in the womb.
4D ULTRASOUND FACT SHEET
4D technology uses sound waves that are out of the range of human hearing so your baby will not be aware of the scan taking place. For good clear imaging we need a pool of amniotic fluid around babies face. To get the very best 4D images it’s important that your baby is in a face upward position However the images of your baby’s face will be affected by anything that blocks or reduces the sound waves or causes a shadow, the umbilical cord, baby’s hands and feet.
Babies position also plays a large part in the clarity of the images. If baby is cuddled in to the wall of the womb or placenta your imaging will be hazy. We can try to encourage movement by asking you to roll onto your side, sometimes taking a walk around is also needed. Our policy is to try our best for you on the day, unfortunately this means we may over run on our scan times. Please be patient every client is very important to us.
Our clinic offers pregnancy scans at all gestastions from 6 - 40 weeks of pregnancy and all our sonographers are fully trained in clinical & diagnostic ultrasound. All our scans are started with a well-being check of baby and if they feel their could be a problem with baby we will explain as fully as we are able and speak to your midwife with your permission.

Our Scanning Machines
Our ultrasound scanner is basically a very powerful computer. It’s processor interprets the reflected high frequency sound waves into 3D pictures and adds the fourth-dimension to give us real time moving images. HD is High Definition.
Safety
We take the safety of you and your baby very seriously and have adopted the A. L. A. R. A (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) protocol when scanning. In simple terms this means that we have our scanners set at the lowest levels that will allow us to get great images for you. We also follow BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for non-diagnostic, bonding scans, which means we have lowered the output levels on our machines and do not scan before 16 weeks.

Would definitely recommend this place, because we don’t get another scan on the NHS we decided to pay for one and I’m so glad we did! Lovely staff members who made you feel so welcome! The room itself is fab with the soothing music and screens around the room. We had to come for a rescan because our boy was being lazy and wouldn’t show his face! The ladies offered us 2 free prints even though it wasn’t their fault, which was very much appreciated and very lovely of them! So amazing to see your child’s little face, thank you so much. �
Went tonight for a cheeky little look at our baby and what a great place! Girls were lovely from arriving and made us feel very comfortable!

We went for our well-being and gender scan yesterday, got nothing but praise for this company and their staff. All 4 members of staff we absolutely lovely, we all felt so welcomed and at ease. Would 100% recommend it to anyone!
We came in for our Gender Scan, and it was an amazing experience. The staff and products/services they offer are lovely, we got our little princesses heart beat recorded and placed into a pink bear! The whole experience was welcoming and professional!

Visited today for our gender / wellbeing scan. I honestly would not recommend anyone any higher! All the staff were lovely and our sonogropher was very patient letting us go back in 3 times to finally find out we have a little girl � we are over the moon with your service and hope to return soon thank you all again x
On Wednesday myself and my little family went to window to the womb Darlington for a Wellbeing and Gender scan and what a lovely experience it was. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and were amazing with our 2 girls, explaining baby to them and taking the time to show them her little face, hands and feet. A huge thank you to you all for such an amazing experience ��we’re having another girl��
Me, my partner and family came yesterday for a 4D scan. All staff members were polite, approachable and friendly we were all made to feel at home in the scan room and the room was a lovely relaxing environment. Would highly recommend to anyone it was definitely worth the money thank you!
I couldn’t praise this service enough! Professional, friendly, caring and all round loveliness. The facilities are so comfortable, with a spacious waiting area. The room itself was very spacious with screens on all walls so no-one missed those special moments. The team made our visit so special, and I can’t thank them enough!
I can’t rate this place enough. I went for my gender and 4D scan. The staff are so polite and welcoming. They make sure they get what you have gone for, because let’s face it babies don’t always do what you want them to do. I got to find out the sex and got some amazing pictures of our baby boy smiling, and it’s so nice to get the reassurance that everything is okay. Not only that but you get the bumpies app with all the pictures on which your able to save and do whatever you wish. Thank you so much window to the womb, it’s been an amazing experience that I never had with my first.
Had the best time seeing our little munchkin at window to the womb. The staff were brilliant and so friendly and nothing was too much for them. They put us at ease, explained everything and seemed genuinely happy for us and they are a credit to their profession! Love my little elephant with my baby’s heart beat and won’t be able to look at my photos until after my gender reveal but have no doubt they will be amazing too. My partner said it was the best scan we’ve been too since being pregnant. So a massive thumbs up for anyone thinking of visiting them. ���
Awww been for my 4d scan here yesterday..... my little girl worked herself at first but after some walking and prodding she let us see that little face of hers!!! Shes had us laughing, yawning whilst putting her hand over her mouth and then sticking her toes up her nose � cant thank staff enough for being so patient as we eere there well over an hour!!! Lovely staff and brilliant service to use

Amazing experience overall purchasing the VIB experience yesterday. Sonographer and buddy were really attentive, reassuring and patient giving us the best experience we could have had expeically when baby chambers was putting her foot in her mouth and face for the duration and really didnt want to move... truely amazing and something we will remeber and have with us forever! A big massive thank you!!!! We will be returning if we get this chance again ����

After being told by my hospital consultant we had problems about my pregnacy we booked in for the well being and gender scan ... And we were absolutely blown away ... From arriving to leaving the service was fantastic, professional and so friendly they were just as excited about the scan as we were which made the experience even better ... So during the scan in the most comfortable room ever we were taken round every inch of the womb and baby from head to toe ... No problems at all what so ever our minds where put to rest and we were having a healthy comfy little boy... I can't thank the team enough . The clinic it's self is the cleanest calmest place I have been to massive toy section that kept my 2yr old very entertained while we waited which wasn't long at all again can't thank them enough was a wonderful experience xxxxx
Absolutely fantastic clinic: I arrived with my husband 3 children my Mam and my MIL /FIL for a 28week 4dscan, everything was perfect they take there time no rush (rooms are beautiful & clean) waiting area is so relaxing and very comfortable, girls who work there are so friendly and polite and all do a fantastic roll. Even better was the pictures we received from our little boy he is just perfect. Thank you for such a unforgettable experience xx
Absolutely amazing experience � bit of a hiccup in appointment date/time but that was rectified immediately. I cannot thank the girls enough who gave us all & shared this 'experience' with us! Very highly recommended! Came away on a high :) and knowing we are expecting a BOY thank you so much. Can't wait to come back in 10 weeks �
A breathtaking experience for anyone who is expecting and eager to see their unborn child!! A warm welcome awaited us from the staff and we were quickly invited to our room to start the scan.... The room itself was very spacious, comfortable and clean and we couldn’t fault the service given from the team. The first sight of our baby was an incredible feeling as we watched on the various screens above, what a moment to cherish until we meet her for real....
