4D ULTRASOUND FACT SHEET
4D technology uses sound waves that are out of the range of human hearing so your baby will not be aware of the scan taking place. For good clear imaging, we need a pool of amniotic fluid around baby’s face. To get the very best 4D images it’s important that your baby is in a face upward position However the images of your baby’s face will be affected by anything that blocks or reduces the sound waves or causes a shadow, the umbilical cord, baby’s hands and feet.
Babies position also plays a large part in the clarity of the images. If baby is cuddled in to the wall of the womb or placenta your imaging will be hazy. We can try to encourage movement by asking you to roll onto your side, sometimes taking a walk around is also needed. Our policy is to try our best for you on the day, unfortunately this means we may over run on our scan times. Please be patient every client is very important to us.
Our clinic offers pregnancy scans at all gestastions from 16 - 40 weeks of pregnancy and all our sonographers are fully trained in clinical & diagnostic ultrasound. All our scans are started with a well-being check of baby and if they feel there could be a problem with baby we will explain as fully as we are able and speak to your midwife with your permission.

We had a seven week scan and it was amazing to see the heart beat and the scan confirmed the reality of our new little one being alive. Then we booked a 4d scan and our baby was hiding (camera shy). We were able to rebook and thanks to the fabulous team at Window To The Womb we were able to see our baby’s face. It felt like a true connection watching our little one wiggle, yawn and rub its eyes. Thank you so much and we both definitely recommend this service, well worth the money.
Returned to Window to the womb yesterday for a 4D scan after already visiting to have a gender scan a while ago. Such an amazing experience seeing our little boy. The staff are great and make you feel very welcome and are very patient. He wasn’t in a good position to start with so they said to go for a short walk to try to get him to move. Our package allowed us to print some of our favourite photos and have some put into key rings. But I loved the fact that all of our photos are accessible via the Bumpies app so we are able to print them off and share with family when we want to. We also had one of the heartbeat bears which is amazing to hear his heartbeat!! Can not recommend enough!! Best experience and would definitely return if we have anymore babies.
I booked the VIB Scan , we were made to feel very welcome on arrival, the staff were all amazing and the 4d experience was just fab, our little girl liked to play with her hands and feet ,covering her face most of the time so we only had a few images but the images we got were amazingly clear, as we did not get many images even after trying all sorts of methods to get her moving positions we were invited back free of charge for a Second time a week later, the little monkey again was playing with hands and feet which restricted the view however I have to say the images we got are just brilliant , the video as well is something we can play back time and time again and cherish forever! Fantastic service , the staff really go above and beyond to ensure you do not leave empty handed and to give you the best experience they can, Highly recommend to everyone , thank you window to the womb xxx
Brilliant scan experience today 19.5.18. Fab from the offset. We originally booked the 4d Born To Be A Star package.
However a few days ago noticed they had an offer on for the 4d Very Important Baby package which worked out less money than my original package. I rung to see if I could upgrade my scan, and was told yes of course. Brilliant. We arrived today and were met with a lovely warm welcome. We had to wait a little while which we were dreading with a two year old in tow, but oh my gosh the waiting room/play area was fab. I was made pretend Mc Donalds and got a lovely coloured photo. We went in to have the scan and again a lovely warm welcome. It didn't feel rushed. And the pictures we got were amazing plus all my little extras like the key rings were a lovely touch. My scan was a birthday present from my partner and has topped the list of presents. Very very happy with my scan today. X
