Ultrasound Scanning
Ultrasound is very high frequency sound waves, well above the perception of the human ear so your baby will not be aware of the scan in any way. 3D and 4D ultrasound uses exactly the same technology as hospital 2D ultrasound scanning.
2D ultrasound gives imaging in 2 dimensions and is used in diagnostic examinations.
We are privileged to be able to offer you and your family an amazing and realistic first look at your baby with a unique Window to the Womb 3D /4D Ultrasound Baby Scan.
Whilst just as safe as the traditional 2D scan that you will have at your hospital, a 3D /4D /HD ultrasound scan can help you get up close and personal with your unborn baby in a way that you never thought possible thanks to the combination of our years of experience, our trained team and our amazing equipment. From a yawn to a stretch, your 2D /3D /4D /HD ultrasound session can give you a realistic first introduction to your baby in their protected world!
3D ultrasound gives images in 3-dimensions, in other words still pictures
4D ultrasound gives imaging in the fourth dimension, giving us real-time movement of your baby in the womb.
4D ULTRASOUND FACT SHEET
4D technology uses sound waves that are out of the range of human hearing so your baby will not be aware of the scan taking place. For good clear imaging we need a pool of amniotic fluid around babies face. To get the very best 4D images it’s important that your baby is in a face upward position However the images of your baby’s face will be affected by anything that blocks or reduces the sound waves or causes a shadow, the umbilical cord, baby’s hands and feet.
Babies position also plays a large part in the clarity of the images. If baby is cuddled in to the wall of the womb or placenta your imaging will be hazy. We can try to encourage movement by asking you to roll onto your side, sometimes taking a walk around is also needed. Our policy is to try our best for you on the day, unfortunately this means we may over run on our scan times. Please be patient every client is very important to us.
Our clinic offers pregnancy scans at all gestastions from 6 - 40 weeks of pregnancy and all our sonographers are fully trained in clinical & diagnostic ultrasound. All our scans are started with a well-being check of baby and if they feel their could be a problem with baby we will explain as fully as we are able and speak to your midwife with your permission.

Our Scanning Machines
Our ultrasound scanner is basically a very powerful computer. It’s processor interprets the reflected high frequency sound waves into 3D pictures and adds the fourth-dimension to give us real time moving images. HD is High Definition.
Safety
We take the safety of you and your baby very seriously and have adopted the A. L. A. R. A (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) protocol when scanning. In simple terms this means that we have our scanners set at the lowest levels that will allow us to get great images for you. We also follow BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for non-diagnostic, bonding scans, which means we have lowered the output levels on our machines and do not scan before 16 weeks.

What an amazing experience we had today can’t thank all the staff enough for making our 4D scan so special From the minute we walked in making us feel so relaxed and at ease Thank you all so much loved every minute of it .
We visited window the the womb in liverpool to find out whether we were having a boy or a girl at 16 weeks and we had a fantastic experience it was absolutely fabulous! We wanted to find out together with all our family the next day so they kept it a secret from us and we got the balloon, a teddy with heartbeat in a box for our daughter to open as we popped balloon. We our having another little princess! Staff are really friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you! We visited again last week for a 4d well being scan, however, our princess was playing hide and seek covering her face with both hands! Rebooked for today at 30 weeks and our baby was very well behaved today and we have some amazing photos � thank you so much Debbie & team for another fabulous visit xxx
We have visited Debbie and the team twice recently once at a gender reveal to confirm we are having a princess � and again on the 2nd July for a 4d scan. Our shy baby hid her face on this appointment so we rescheduled and managed to get some pics on the next xx The team were amazing, such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and Debbie felt a friend I couldn’t have asked for better care so thank you everyone at window to the womb Liverpool � xx book, you won’t be disappointed �xx
We have been here tonight for our gender scan.
What an amazing place � everyone is so lovely who works here. I highly recommend it to anyone. We have bought a balloon and can not wait to find or what we are having with our family and friends on Saturday ��.

We attended an appointment today for a 4D scan of our baby. The staff were so welcoming and it was a warm atmosphere. We got to see our baby’s face full on, even a foot in the face too.
Definitely recommend to other Mummies to be and will be back in the future if we have baby number 2 xx
Visited here yesterday for our first grandbabies 16 week gender scan. Can not recommend this place enough. Lovely warm and welcoming place and the staff are so lovely and made our first experience so special. Cannot wait to go back for a 4D scan to see our baby grandson. Thank you Debbie. Xx

My Partner and I had an amazing eperience here this Evening. The staff were so fantastic and welcoming and extremely accommodating to everything we wanted out of this experience. We had our 16 week Gender Scan and we had our 24 week 4D scan here... Our little one wasnt very cooperative on the 4D scan and we had to return after a few weeks for our rescan in which the staff done everything possible to get amazing images & video. Thank you all so much for everything and we can't wait for our little one to arrive now. I would 110% reccomend Window to the Womb to any wishing for an unreal sneak peek of their little one ��
