About Windsor & Eton Brewery

Making beer the biggest attraction in Windsor.
We are proud to be part of the revolution in beer making throughout the world.

Windsor & Eton Brewery Description

Brewing is our passion, it’s in our blood, it’s in our name too – webrew. co. uk!

Windsor ales were once famous amongst rich and poor alike. When Burge’s Brewery closed its doors in 1931, it brought to an end a tradition of Windsor brewing that had lasted for well over 300 years.

In just seven weeks we managed to create a new brewery from scratch. On the 1st March 2010, St David’s Day, we began installing the brewing vessels and on 23rd April 2010, St George’s Day, Guardsman Best Bitter was on sale in pubs. Seventy-nine years after the closure of Windsor’s last brewery, beer was back!

Our ambition is simple – to make Windsor famous again as a brewer of some of the finest and most talked about beers in the country.

Our ambition remains simple – to make great traditional cask ales and have great fun on the way. We hope you continue having as much pleasure drinking them as we have making them.

Oh my goodness, the rumours are true - the brewhouse is opening on a Sunday to satisfy your rugby needs! The bar opens at 1 in time for a 3pm kickoff, with pies and pasties on offer from Warner Butchers all afternoon long!

User

£12 for the tour. Too cheap. They've already repaid that back to you with beer tasting before you even get in the back and see the magic. A number of great tasting beers and they are more than happy to keep you happy.

But it's not just about the drinking. The work that goes into producing these great beers, ales and lager is very informative.

User

What an amazing tour and what a brilliant bloke Will who was our guide and one of the partners is!

The tour started at 12:30 and we rolled out of the bar at the end of the tour at 15:15 although we could have stayed longer.

You know what they do is going to involve science but you don’t realise what an art it actually is. Will and the others are so passionate about what they do. I bet they skip to work in the morning!

You get to taste different drinks, they have even made a lager, and learn about the beer making process close up and the processes involved. A hands on demonstration of Malted Hops for example and the smells and taste each can add and at when they can be added.

I would 100% recommend this tour or use the bar and shop if you are passing. I spoke to a guy when in the bar who said he would come back to do the tour from what I said.

I particularly love the musical theme to some of the names.

Thank you Will and all the others for a great afternoon.

User

We held a Board Meeting in the Brewery meeting room which was professionally set up followed by a tour of the brewery and some tasting of various beers. Loved learning more about the beer and hearing Will's passion for his beers. Everyone enjoyed it enormously. Great venue and we will be back to do more tasting. Highly recommend the experience.

User

We did the brewery tour Saturday afternoon. It was absolutely brilliant! The tour was conducted by Will, his passion and knowledge for the beers they brew made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience, as did the fabulous beers we got to taste and continued to enjoy in the bar afterwards! One of the best brewery tours we have done. Thoroughly recommend this, extremely good value too. Well done guys.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the brewery from The team. Amazing to hear how they have grown in 8 years, fantastic tastings, and certainly not short on the measures given *hic*. From how the brewing industry in the U.K. has gone through such change over the past 100 years, to the award winning brews from WeBrew.

User

The your is fantastic and well worth the £12.50 cost, you get more than that in the value of the taster beers alone.

Informative, interesting and superbly hosted by Will Calvert.

My only tip, get there by foot, train, bus or taxi, you definitely don't want to drive!

User

The tour was absolutly fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The history of the brewery has been told with a huge sense of humor, interesting and allowed to get to know the business from the inside out. The beer is really very good, generously poured and in many types (English lager!). It is an obligatory point for us when you are planning a visit to Windsor. Now we miss the taste of IPA longingly. Thx guys and cheers from Poland

User

Relatively modern brewery so not an interesting building but this is completely outweighed by the interesting and knowledgeable Will who talks passionately about his business and the brewing business about which he is an expert. Great afternoon with plenty of samples. Highly recommend this.

User

It would not only be wrong but a lie to say this isn't the best business in Windsor. They've grown and grown but still have such a fresh aporoach to making the business better. Super team. Lots of events. Lovely brewery bar (open more hours). A pub over the river. Oh and did I mention the beer?? Great beer!!!!! 🍺🍻🍺

User

Huge thanks to Bob and Paddy for looking after us today and giving us the full range of samples. Great, tasty beers and lovely people.

User

Great tour today Matt very informative beer fab. A must do if you are in Windsor

User

Great beer, real good range. The people that run are really knowledgeable and friendly. It's atmospheric, and very relaxed. I love going there for rugby, must go there to visit the shop.

User

Great atmosphere for watching the rugby, especially if England get the win. Not a beer drinker myself but it seemed to go down well with other members of my family and I can recommend the wine! Staff all very helpful and coped well with the amount of people there. Have been twice and would definitely go again!

User

Four of us visited the brewery and was hoping for a tour.. but they are only available as organised tours. However, we were treated to a brief walkaround by Penny and George.. absolutely above and beyond.. then sampling the 12 beers in the taproom (4 keg and 8 Ales) all lovely and different with the Black IPA being my personal favourite. Thanks to all for a very enjoyable time.. first class.

User

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly owners happy to explain brewing and encourage you to sample many of their excellent beers as part of their tour. Within our group Knight of the Garter, Treason, Republika and Conqueror were the most raved about but there was not a bad beer out of the seven or eight we tried!

Really good pub food classics at their pub The George too.

Thanks Will and Ed, we all had a great time.

User

Excellent beer, great atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff not to mention the fantastic shop attached too, well worth a visit imo

User

Absolutey brilliant place to watch the six nations rugby, plenty of space, atmosphere and great beer! Wrap up warm as it does get cold, but it adds to the atmosphere 😀So happy that this place has transformed from just a brewery, to a place that hosts social events! Keep it up!

User

A huge thank you to Windsor & Eton Brewery for two amazingly kind gestures. Firstly, thank you for yet again providing a lovely prize for our tabletop sale raffle (8th July, Gardeners Hall). Secondly, thank you for offering a place to breastfeed when my 8 month old started crying inconsolably. You even offered privacy (a private room). Thank you for your kindness, generosity and understanding, especially seeing as I didn't even buy anything on my visit.

User

A few Rotarians and former Rotarians and friends went on a visit to the second most popular attraction in Windsor- they are trying to become No. 1😄😫. Guy generously sorted out a coach for us all so we could try the seven beers on offer- a third of a pint each. I really like beer now😘😛We tried the lager they produce and I found it comparitively tasteless. The tour and explanation of how they do it was great too.
