I bought a bike from them online. It appears they delivered it to me incorrectly set up. Also the bike arrived without any notification. Luckily my neighbour was in.

The main problem is that the gear shifter broke almost immediately and the gears were poorly aligned. Winstanley told me it was my fault and they refused to pay for repairs. My local shop said the gears were not set up right. Also, the hand grips were loose.

After some argument they refunded the repair cost.

My advice: budget an extra £30 to £40 to get your bike serviced by your local shop if you buy online.

Today I visited the shop to seek some advice about a bike. I spoke to a young, tall lad with tattoos, glasses and a beard who's name I have forgot. He went above and beyond to help, and he went out of his way to assist me with all of the questions that I had to ask and I could not be happier with the service I received today. I would highly recommend this bike shop to friends and family and I would like to thank the lad for his time and effort. The only downside would be that the building was extremely cold, other than that great service and great shop.

Just read all the negative reviews, from my experience the guys on the shop floor are very help full and will go out their way to get you fixed up again. Granted parts etc are not always in stock but they do ship out high quantities and non stock items are delivered quickly and at a competitive price.

Very disappointing service causing significant inconvenience... Telephoned the store on a Wednesday to query stock of a particular component I needed for an urgent build. I explained the urgency and was assured by the pleasant operative that it was in stock and ready for dispatch so placed my order.
On Thursday I emailed to query that I'd not received an order confirmation email and to check my email address was correct.. Received the following reply: "I’m sorry you have not yet received an email but I can confirm your order was successful and is awaiting dispatch. You will receive an email once it has left our warehouse, this should be today".
Friday I receive another update saying the item is NOT in stock and that it won't be for an estimated 7 days plus 48hrs dispatch time.
Very slack service considering I stressed how important this order was to me. I shall be avoiding Winstanley's Bikes in future and recommend anyone reading this does the same.

If I could score this establishment with 0 stars I would. I bought a bike for my son that was not fit for purpose. On several occasions the bike broke. Winstanleys sent me parts to fix it and when none of the parts worked suggested that they could replace it with a different bike but it would cost me over £200! This business has a total lack of integrity and morality. I will never purchase from them again and warn you against it. Beware of customer services staff and workshop manager. Managing director will completely refuse to deal with you at all. Appalling experience.

Ignore all the negative 1 star reviews! People are too quick to be negative these days. I have had multiple dealings with Winstanley over the last couple of months, through Phone/email/web purchases & returns. Every interaction has been professional/courteous and fast acted. I would recommend them to all, as they are by far the cheapest on the web, with a great returns procedure/department...

Rang and asked for a demo of whyte g160 rs was built for me to try really happy with purchase and knowledge of staff in the shop seemed like a good bunch of lads. Can't speak for delivery side but hey if you're buying a bike surely you want to put a leg over it I travelled 100 miles and more than happy with the service.

Whilst not questioning the very reasonable cost of my purchase as well as my daughters' eventual happiness with her bike, the overall experience I've had with my order was to say the least extremely disappointing.
When I placed my order, the bike was delivered on time but with a bent front wheel. I made numerous telephone calls over several days as well as emailing supporting video evidence of the fault and on each occasion I was promised a swift solution. This of course never happened as fast as I had expected and when I did receive a replacement it was both the wrong size and and colour!
The process to replace the replacement was as laborious as the first time and at no time did I feel I had the support or empathy from the customer services team.
Even yesterday, prompted by my efforts alone , I booked a collection for the return of the faulty/incorrect wheels but the courier never showed....
The school summer holidays are now drawing to a close and my daughter has had use of the bike for barely a week, not exactly what I had had planned. I had seen the same item from a local bike shop for a more money and to be brutally honest I wish I had paid their asking price knowing I would have had the bike for it's original purpose.

Purchased my bike last weekend and it arrived on Thursday. Super quick postage and great customer service when i asked to arrange another delivery date. Best price i found for my bike also. Good job all round. :)

Saw a bike I had scoured the web for with a huge discount. Was very worried seeing other google reviews and everyone having issues. However I discovered their TrustPilot page which gave me hope. If you're in doubt i'd check there to see if you'd like to buy from them.

Decided to take the plunge and very glad I did. Ordered and with 48 hours bike was at my door. Very pleased!!!

Do not buy from these people.....

After being let down by another retailer (blacks.co.uk) I approached winstanleys bikes with a phone call to see if they could sort me out an urgent delivery. They confirmed they had the item in stock and that I could pay extra for next day delivery.

I ordered the item and paid the extra but no product arrived.

I'm now being told that they definitely sent the item. However the courier are saying that they definitely did not receive it. So while Winstanleys and Yodel fight amoungst themselves I'm nearly £400 out of pocket and am being told they can't (read as WONT) send a replacement until the other one turns up and can't (again read as WONT) refund me until then either. I'm assuming this could take days/weeks/months to sort out.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING !!!

Went here to try a few bikes out for size and fit in the car park and was served by darren, nothing was too much trouble and darren was very knowlegable and a perfect gentlemen, the prices and customer service was top notch and no sales pressure at all, just try out what you want.
