END OF SENTENCE + KARL OSKARSSON IKS
Directed by Elfar Adalsteins, feature End of Sentence is a drama starring Oscar nominee, John Hawkes (Winters Bone, Contagion) and Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fury). Shot by cinematographer Karl Oskarsson IKS, the feature is based on a trying relationship between a father and son as they travel from Alabama to Ireland to spread their wife & mother’s ashes in he...r hometown.
End of Sentence received its World Premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and has been described by #TheHollywoodReporter as an “emotionally raw road movie” with the “ample potential for turning festival buzz into box office returns”. The Hollywood Reporter also gave it a very positive review: “End of Sentence is a familiar story at heart, but beautifully observed, sensitively played and smart enough to wrong-foot audience expectations whenever the plot gets too comfortable.”
The Hollywood Reporter admires the beauty in Director of Photography Karl Oskarsson IKS’ work, stating: “Adalsteins maintains an impressively steady hand for a first-time director, while he and cinematographer Karl Oskarsson shoot the lush Irish countryside with majestic aerial shots that manage to look ravishing without resorting to twinkle-eyed Emerald Isle cliché.” While #Variety said: “the rolling, tousled Emerald Isle scenery flashing by the car window shot lucidly but not over-prettily by Karl Oskarsson, doesn’t hurt either.”

ANNA RHODES + #PRIDE CAMPAIGN POSTERS
Production Designer Anna Rhodes designed this year’s Pride spot – Jubilee.
... Amongst other creative elements, Anna designed the protest signs that are featured in this year’s campaign, and the posters are now on display in the Pride in London pop-up shop on Neal Street, Covent Garden.
Anna carried out research at the Bishopsgate Institute and also Gay’s The Word, a pioneering #LGBTQ+ bookshop in Bloomsbury.
Directed by Fred Rowson (Blink), the spot explores historic elements of the LGBTQ+ movement stemming from 1969 through to the present day.

EVERYMAN: MUSIC MAKES YOU FEEL FILM + TIM SIDELL
Everyman Cinemas have collaborated with Apple Music to bring us the new Everyman: Music Makes You Feel Film campaign. Shot by Director of Photography, Tim Sidell and directed by Sophie Jones at Partizan, the new commercial shows us a symphony of music through different experiences and situations.
... The commercial has been described as a “visual treat” and “surreal and cinematic”. The spot aims to broadcast the power that music plays in film and features three British artists, Obongiavar, Celeste and Master Peace.
Tim’s commercial is being screened at Everyman Cinemas across the country.

In/Development showcases behind-the-scenes talent within feature films, television, video games and commercials.
... Last month saw the second event from In/Development where it showcased descriptive presentations from Cinematographer Diana Olifirova, Make Up Designer Dorita Nissen and Choreographer Suzette Brissett. They discussed how they got to where they are today, their favourite parts of the job and the struggles they have overcome so far.
The night began with Director of Photography Diana Olifirova talking about her work on Short Films and how she has adapted in many challenging situations, such as language barriers and creating kit on a job to get the result she wanted. Diana also spoke about one of her favourite shorts she has worked on, comedy Not Today (Davay Ne Syogodni), which is about an elderly couple planning to die. Not Today also was Winner of the Best Short Film award at Trieste Film Festival.
Next up was Make Up Designer, Dorita Nissen. Dorita explained how her passion for make-up started to develop as a child, where she took make-up inspiration from her idols, such as Madonna. Dorita described her journey from Denmark, to Miami to England, and how she began working with famous artist Romero Britto, and big-name brands such as Estee Lauder and Laura Mercier. Now Dorita showcases her skills on many commercials for brands such as; adidas, The Coca-Cola Company, Gilette, Jaguar, Levis, Celine, Nike, Rimmel and Puma.
The event was set up by Ross Olivey, Ed Roberts-Graver and Nick Lewis who work at creative development studio, The Late Misters. The Late Misters help creative visions come to life by Screenwriting, Treatment Writing/Directors Interpretation, Visual Research, Mood Reels, Concept Art, Storyboards and Treatment Design.

Peter has shot Features such as; Voice from the Stone (starring EmiliaClarke, Marton Csokas), Fairhaven (starring Sarah Paulson, Chris Messina) which was Winner of the Best Feature Award at New Hampshire Film Festival 2012 and Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival 2012, The Perfect Guy (starring Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy), and Skateland (starring Ashley Greene, Brett Cullen) which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival 2010.
Simonite also shot second unit cinematography on critically acclaimed feature, Tree of Life (main unit cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki ASC). Directed by Terrence Malick and starring BradPitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain, the feature was nominated for 3 Oscars, and had another 112 wins and 117 nominations over the festival circuit.
Peter is also busy in the world of commercials, shooting for big brands such as; Apple, Nike, Google, Uber, Volkswagen, and Samsung. Peter works regulary with directors: Arni Thor Jonsson, The Mercadantes, The Malloys and the Guard Brothers.

Director of Photography Franklin Dow’s latest work is music promo Stand By for new artist LORYN (Ft. Rudimental). Stand By is the Official Song of ICC- International Cricket Council Men's CricketWorldcup 2019 which begins on the 30th May.
... Directed by Dan Henshaw through Common People Films. Franklin fashioned a contraption he named “The Sea Bird”, which was made of wood, foam and a fish tank. This was to capture the ball in the water shot.

Featuring cinematography from Richard Mott, The Corrupted is a 2019 crime drama directed by Ron Scalpello (My Name is Lenny) and stars Sam Claflin (TheHungerGames, Me.before.you), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Happy Valley), Timothy Spall (Sweeney Todd, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter) and Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill, Downton Abbey).
... The narrative centres around life in London when Britain was finalising their bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
