NEW SHOW // Killing Eve - Band + Cold in Berlin + Grooving In Green
24 May 2019 The Slade Rooms
... Tickets on sale now: https://bit.ly/2UqI5DR
Killing Eve is the brand new project from ANDY COUSIN (All About Eve/The Mission) and ANNE MARIE HURST (Skeletal Family/Ghost Dance) Andy is currently busy as a Radio presenter on The Andy Cousin Show on www.dealradio.com) amongst many other projects he famously played bass for All About Eve and The Mission. ANNE MARIE HURST was the lead singer in Skeletal Family and Ghost Dance who she co founded with Gary Marx from Sister Of Mercy, here AM became a well loved and respected vocalist and features in the top 10 most influential woman in Goth. Killing Eve are completed with ADRIAN 'Ozzy' OSADZENKO the former Skeletal Family drummer 2013-2018, he also played with 50 Foot Woman who toured with Ricky Warwick. Killing Eve have just completed a 13 track album which will be released soon!
COLD IN BERLIN Cold in Berlin return with a fourth album recorded and set for release in autumn 2019. Cold in Berlin continue to explore the darkest corners of heavy guitar composition from their spiritual home of gothic doom punk. A year off to regroup and write has produced the bands strongest set of tracks to date, with their trademark epic darkness now summoning haunting keys and string sections. Vocalist Maya, empowered by a recent collaboration with punk icon Lydia Lunch for Transmaniacon's The Strange World of Suzie Pellet concept album, delivers a breath taking range of shattering lyrics inspired by nothing less than the immanent collapse of the world, as we know it. Cold in Berlin have cast a spell of apocalyptic witchcraft to soundtrack the uninhabitable world.
GROOVING IN GREEN Formed in 2008, the current line up consists of Tron on vocals (Solemn Novena), Pete Finniemore on guitars (Children On Stun/Switchblade Switch), Simon Rippin on drums (Eden House/Adoration/NFD/Nefilim/Red Sun Revival), the UK gothic rock/post-punk outfit took their name from a March Violets song and over the years have played all over the world, they are currently finishing off their 3rd album tentatively called 'A Second Chance', very much like the other acts on this amazing triple bill they are goth rock royalty so don't be late to game, this terrific line up is never likely to repeated!

Well sometimes it has to be said. My tickets for Robert Plant hadn't arrived in the post. After discovering the box office lives the Art gallery and time running out i got to the temporary box office as it was closing. The lady that was running that part of the admin was nothing less than tireless in her help to get permission to re-issue duplicate tickets for the evening. Thank you once again for all of your help

The best music venue in the West Midlands. I have been countless times to see various bands and the sound is always great. I went to see James last night and I had a great time. Good seats, a brilliant atmosphere (as usual) and an amazing band. What more could you want?

User

It has been one of the most notable live music venues in the county for several decades. Always decent sound, and staff catering beer and food to the masses without any major delays. One of the best venues around.

User

I actually went to the Wulfrun centre next door. Excellent. Saw Magnum and Vega. All standing. Plenty of room . Large bar area separate from the venue room. The lighting and sound on the stage was brilliant. Definitely recommend it.

User

Great venue one of the best every city/town should have one, great all round view, facilities are fantastic never fails to delivery your entertainment experiance!!!

User

Cracking venue could not fault it easy to locate plenty of local pubs nearby. Service inside good no long waits jugs the way to do it ’┐Į

User

Been to this venue for 2 Marillion Weekends in 2013 and 2015 and found it to be brilliant, great view no matter where you are, friendly professional staff and easy to find.

User

Nice old type venue with a choice of standing or seating on the Balcony .Halfway through up grade which I hope includes the toilets which are still dated .

Close to City Centre which makes it easy to walk from Rail Station or various car parks.

User

Jimmy Carr was absolutely brilliant but the organisation during the intermission requires work. Was told to go to main bar as it was empty only to get there to be told it was shut. When got back to side bars almost didn't get served. The seating is very cramp with not much room to even move in your seat.

User

Had a brilliant night at Gino last night, first time here, staff very friendly and helpful! The only down point the chairs were so rammed together there was hardly any space and they were so uncomfortable!!

User

After all the talk of an upgrade, I was completely amazed at the lack of changes inside the venue, there was more fences around the hall outside to protect us from terrorists, the concert itself was outstanding, I would expect nothing less from BCC, I personally enjoy the Slade rooms for gigs, I won't be rushing back to the Civic anytime soon, all that tax payers money gone on a bit of ply board on the balcony, WTF !!!!

User

We were made to stand outside in the freezing cold while the engineers sorted a sound problem before the Al Murray show and the Roy Chubby Brown show had to be stopped while the Civic sound "engineers" unsuccessfully tried to correct the problem. The music was over amplified while the microphones could barely be heard. It's pointless spending all that money to cram more people into the venue if you can't get the basics like sound and lighting right.

User

We were handed a leaflet to say we had to stay in our seats during the performance then people from the back were dancing in the isles and security stopped them going towards the stage then security came and said that they could let them through so people who had bought tickets at the front couldn't see it was absolutely disgusting considering the price of the tickets.

User

Oh dear , visited the civic to watch the " Bootleg Beatles" on Friday night . Our allocated seats were in the Middle Balcony . We were practically sitting on each other's laps . No room to stretch out at all . Both side balconies were empty so in the interval we moved ( as others had done ) but were told we couldn't stay there !!! I only hope when the refurbishment is done that they read the reviews before planning !

User

Considering how much room there was in the hall we were sitting on top of one another......at one point I thought I was going to get a slap in the face from the woman sitting next to me as we were touching legs and shoulders that often it could've been considered as harassment!!!!! But the Circus of Horrors was ace though.

User

Went to see Jimmy Carr last night and have to say this venue is awful. Seating is so cramped and the room is absolutely boiling. The staff behind the bar and some of the security team are so rude and obnoxious... I think they need some training in customer service!! The bar staff appear very annoyed that more people don't go to the main bar and constantly vocalise this loudly between one another. I only wanted some flippin Sahara nuts which FYI THEY DON'T SELL AT THE MAIN BAR LOVE! The venue is falling apart too. Other than that it's fab ha!

User

We visited on 2nd December 2016 to see Catherine Tate Live. Seating is cramped and downright dangerous. My 81 year old mom tripped up and fell on the chair leg as we were getting to our seat and bruised her knee and thigh!! The legs stick out way to much and are a serious hazard. It was overpoweringly hot and uncomfortable during the performance. As for trying to get a drink in the interval...what a joke! Crowded bar areas and slow staff made it impossible for everyone to get served. After queuing for ages they closed the bar for the second half and the majority of people hadnt bought their drinks. And those that did struggled to move away from the packed bar area without spilling!! I didnt even attempt to visit the loo when i saw the queue. I know there are other loos but fighting through the people waiting for drinks in the too narrow corridors is just impossible!! The place is scruffy, cramped and in serious need of an update. In future i'll head elsewhere to see my favourite acts.

User

The seats I was allocated were not there it then took 6 attempts to get us seated as they kept giving us seats which were already allocated. At one point they gave me an two other couples the same 2 seats which already had someone sitting in them. To top it all off we missed the start of the show even though we were there for the doors opening.

User

My evening was spoilt by the attitude of one of the security staff members. I have spinal nerve problems which means I have to alternate between sitting & standing. I chose seats centre balcony, last row, last seat so I could do this. I was told in no uncertain terms by 1 male security guy I couldn't do this, I had to do 1 or the other even after I'd told him I have a spinal problem. So most of the night was spent in considerable pain, more than usual. Not acceptable treatment for someone with a disability Wolverhampton Civic Hall I'm afraid it's not somewhere I will be going again & wouldn't recommend the venue either due to his attitude. It takes a lot to upset me but he succeeded.
