Our lovely Maggie has set herself a challenge. She is planning to stay off all social media for a massive 39 days to raise some funds for the centre, starting on the 17th November until 26th December. If you would like to sponsor her please see Maggie or Elisha at reception for the sponsor form. Wish her well and i will pass it on.

After a very poor train experience this morning I am very pleased to report that the last leg of my journey home has been fabulous. I cannot count how many times I have heard and seen the conductor be genuinely kind, helpful and all round pleasant to passengers. He has been proactively helping with bags, sorting out connections due to some delays and offering people helpful information. Apparently I am on a transpennie express train... I definitely like these ones! 🙂

Fantastic support from the community for a fantastic cause

Travelling to London this morning to meet with other women's centres from around the country. Just been accused of lying about where I got on the train by who I assumed was the conductor but later identified as revenues protection team! Most bizarre, a bit embarrassing and not acceptable. A bit of training required for your staff Virgin Trains. PS I do have a prepaid and valid ticket for this train. Apparently the staff member didn't see me at Lancaster therefore I must have got on at Preston! I am not that old yet... I remember getting up this morning, getting the train from Barrow to Lancaster and then getting on the London Euston train.

Its a place where women can go and feel safe, welcome, comfortable and gain confidence from meeting other women, and also the courses that they offer. The staff are some of the nicest people I have met. You are always greeted with a smile and offered a cuppa. I am privelaged to be a part of Womens Community Matters.xxxx

I have missed you and I have never stopped thinking about WCM for one second. "Come in" you said, "Come in and We will shelter you from the storm". You sheltered me from the storm, from the thunder and lightening all around me, you opened your arms to me and said "Come on in". You worked with us to resolve our conflicts, you gave us your love and never let us feel alone. You gave us hope and faith. You gave us communication to the outside world. You lifted our spirits up and made us feel alive again. You always made us feel welcome and for that, I am truly grateful. Thank you. :) xx To Others: Make sure you visit WCM everyday, or every other day, because there, they will pick you up from the depths of your despair and put you back on the right track until once again, you are able to find yourself. There is so much love just waiting for you. xx With WCM behind us, we are Flying Without Wings!

Empathetic, supportive, understanding, caring, another thing that comes to mind is unconditional love - there are no conditions put on the care given here,(we all mess up sometimes).

It doesn't matter who you are or where you have come from, you are accepted just the way you are. That for me has been life changing xx

User
