Laura adopted Teddy from Wood Green.
She told us: “We visited Wood Green to see if there was a cat we could adopt. We were immediately drawn to Teddy, a friendly ginger tom. The team were amazing to us, and they truly care about all of the cats so much. Teddy is now loving life. He spends most of the day in the sunshine, and in the evenings, he’s cuddled up with us on the sofa.”
We love hearing your adoption stories. Get in touch with us if you would like to share yours!

Beverley came to us as a stray and has since settled in very nicely at our Godmanchester Centre. She has shown herself to be a very curious cat with a tendency to enjoy a long cuddle. In her forever home she would love outdoor space to explore and will need a small amount of time to adjust to a new home. She is super playful and just wants someone to love!

Misty is an unusual mix of Weimaraner and American Bull Dog. At just over 1 years old she finds some things in life quite worrying, so is looking for a quiet home in a rural location to live in. She would prefer her new home to not have many comings and goings and be in a low dog populated area. She could live with sensible teenagers.
She'd prefer not to live with any other animals and will need a bit of training before being left home alone.
Could you offer this gorgeous lady the home of her dreams? #WaggyWednesday http://ow.ly/531L30lcrPg

Verny came into us as a stray with very bad skin issues. Happily, thanks to our dedicated Vet Team, her painful skin condition is improving, but she got fed up with the buster collar, so we bought her a full body suit instead and she LOVES it.
You need a super tolerant cat though to get it on and off over her head, so we are lucky that Verny is such a softy.
She is now ready to find a forever home of her own - http://ow.ly/zQNh30lbfsT #MoggyMonday

At 11 years old, poor Annie has found herself looking for a new home after her owner sadly became very ill.
She is a sweet, independent cat who requires an understanding and quiet home for her to do her own thing, where she can come and go as she pleases. She was an indoor cat for the last few years of her life so would appreciate going back outside for a stroll around the garden! Annie loves to play with her feather in the unit, no other toy will do - it’s a firm favourite.

Xena is a laid back lady who enjoys pottering around the garden, sniffing on her walks and most of all she loves snoozing her afternoons away. We don't get a lot of Presa Canarios into Wood Green so don't miss this lovely lady!
Xena can be left home alone, would be best without other animals and can live with older teenagers.
Please help us to find her people by sharing her video - http://ow.ly/A1dN30l0sWg #WaggyWednesday

Don't be put off by those impressive fangs, this is lovely Max.
Max is FIV positive so needs to live somewhere rural where there are no other cats around and where he can spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors.
He loves being outside but this sweet boy also loves the human touch and food - lots of food! If you have the perfect home for this lovely boy, please get in touch or tag someone that could be purrfect.

High five for Fernando! This handsome soul is 11 years young and looking for a new start in life. He has had to have some dental work and now only has his canine teeth left. This doesn't affect his appetite though and he will gum at your fingers when he is hungry.
Being a combination of black and an older cat he keeps getting overlooked at our London Centre. If there is something in the air tonight and you think you could be the one for our Fernando get in touch - http://ow.ly/N6Z530kVepr

Yesterday we had the awful task of having our staffy khan put to sleep.

The staff of the surgical center were just so caring compassionate and made the process that little bit easier.

So a big thankyou to the staff of woodgreen for what they did for us yesterday .

User

What a fantastic place this is. The staff do a great job looking after all the poor abandoned animals. I recently adopted little Ollie ( nee Rigby ) a Pomeranian from here. The staff are very thorough in matching the animal with the right owner compared to some other rescue centres who just want money. I would in the highest regard recommend Wood Green.

User

We spent a lovely day at Wood Green today. Can we please extend a huge thanks to the chef in the cafe. My son was desperate for an ice cream so she went and searched in her freezer for one and came back with chocolate ice cream, but he is very particular and only wanted vanilla! So she searched again and found a tub of vanilla for him. Thanks so much. Great customer service x

User

We recently adopted Bandit the red lab x, he is such a bundle of joy certainly brightens up our day! He is just wonderful! Thank you so much to Wood Green for making our experience in adopting a new member of our family just perfect. You all do an amazing job in looking after all those animals. I recommend you to all! The professional advice was very beneficial and taught us alot which helped in preparing us for Bandit and for him to have the best life in his new home.

Never buy always adopt from Wood green! Thank you again. Bandit loves his new home.

User

We have just rehomed our little Staffy Vernon from Woodgreen dog rehoming centre and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone was so helpful and the process was so informative, we picked him up Saturday and he’s the most perfect little pup! Thank you so much Woodgreen for all your help , especially Wendy who helped me understand how important diet is. I will be bringing Vernon back for some training soon x

User

We have had our rescue dog Ace for two weeks and he could not be a better fit for our family. He's such a lovely dog and was so well cared for by wood green. He had to have an amputation while at wood green and he was so well looked after. They were really careful to find us a dog that suited our family and lifestyle. Thank you to everyone at wood green.

User

We adopted our pretty lady Hilda (previously known as Zoe) from the Heydon centre in February. She now rules the roost, having settled in brilliantly, and we're very glad to have found her. The experience at Wood Green was very efficient and easy, and the staff were lovely and really seem to care about the cats and placing them in the right home. Thanks again!

We adopted Sooty a year ago today. Its his adoption day!! I just want to say thankyou for such a crazy nutcase of a cat. He was 13.5 years old when we adopted. Bad arthritis in his back, anxiety issues, on meds the rest of his life. Black as the ace of spades, so the odds were against him to be adopted. I fell in love with him the moment i saw him, he choose me with an instant headbutt. We had to have him.

We were told by you guys he isnt playful, or particularly affectionate, mostly due to his health, age and background of circumstances. But....hes proved every wrong. He turned back into a kitten within 2 hours of bringing him home, and has been like it every since. Hes sleeps on top of us, meows constantly trying to have conversations with us, and follows us like a dog haha! Yes hes still on meds, and constantly monitored by our vets. But I cant imagine our life without him, he is just amazing!!

Thankyou so much. He completes our family.

My wife and myself went to look for a dog and we came across Bruno. We decided we wanted to adopt him and started the processe. The staff at wood green were very helpful and friendly going through the whole procedures. Thank you all at wood green for your friedliness professionalism and dedication.

Just attended the chicken keepers workshop and wanted to say thank you for an extremely informative and well run session from very helpful, patient and knowledgeable volunteers. Looking forward to rehoming some hens!

User

I adopted a gorgeous dog Asher back in November. Every phone call I made was met with positivity and every visit I made in person the reception I recieved was excellent. I explained my situation of being up from the Isle of Wight but it was no trouble at all! They really wanted to find me the perfect dog to take home. As i has been serching for a dog for a few weeks, i had encountered many negative experiences at other rehoming centres- I live too far away for the dog to travel, I work, I have a small house, im single, I cant visit mulitple times etc but Wood Greeen only saw the positives and what I could offer which was incredibly refreshing and because of this, I trusted their rehoming team 100%. Adoption was quick, organised and smooth. I also recieved a follow up call from the behaviour team to check all was well a couple weeks or so later. The result is a 2 year old sprocker with a quiet, cozy home with lots of love and the BEST walkies ever - beaches and countryside. A very happy doggy.

User

Found myself a lovely cat here a couple of years ago and now volunteer regularly too. Great place to be, friendly and knowledgeable staff who care about the animals and do a great job with limited charity resources.

After searching for a rescue dog for a while, we came across Frankie on wood greens Facebook page. We fell in love as soon as we saw him and had to see him in person. Thankfully we where found to be suitable to take Frankie home for good! Would like to thank Kiera and everyone at Wood Green for everything they have done with Frankie and for putting up with him for so long. All this hard work and training has made it easier than thought to settle him in at his new home. Wood Green pointed us in the right direction with training plans, dietary needs and insurance. He’s mad, but I wouldn’t change that for the world but he’s also too clever (sometimes for his own good) and affectionate when calm. he really has brightened things up here! Thanks again :)

User

Adopted a gorgeous ginger cat from here in October, (Minty) Billy. The staff we so helpful and passionate about finding the right animal to suit you and your lifestyle. Billy is honestly the most chilled out, loving cat ever. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. Couldn’t recommend Woodgreen or the staff anymore! We all feel so lucky to have fluffy Billy in our lives thanks to the team

When I took my children there was always so much to see. You could visit the kennels to see the dogs but now you can't. The small animals section was ok plenty of rabbits to see but no pig? And the horse part was closed so little disappointed to be honest. Plenty of people visiting but that's because they had a function on for half term.

User

No dogs there at the moment, in fact apart from the cats which most were behind blankets due to heat, & a couple of rabbits I didn’t see any other animal, oh no tell a lie I saw one mouse. The whole place was empty of animals. Again maybe due to heat but you could let the public know on your website it was a wasted journey.

Went to godmanchester today to give a loving caring forever home to a cat we already have a young indoor cst at home and thought she'd like a companion. But beacuse we wanted an indoor cat we were point blank denied and instead given leaflets on how to make garden cat secure and asked to maybe come back after then. we as a family whom have had 2 indoor cats previously until the healthy age of 18 cant be doing much wrong in the wellbeing of providing a loving home. But for wood green were not suitable to give any cat a home. Never mind there are lots of other cats out there that would welcome the bottom of the bed the radiator the love and fuss. Shame on you wood green for not even looking at us as potential owners ever.

User

We tried to come and adopt a pet from yourselves. Your operative saw mine and my partners age, looked that we both work and effectivly said we wouldn't be suitable for having a pet from yourselves because we both work. I found the comments of not being able to leave a dog for more than 4 hours a day completely hypocritical. When the dogs in your care are being left alone for an entirity of 17 hours a day with only the 4 walls of their cages for company. You are only open between 9.30 and 4. If you can catargorically say and prove that each animal is only left alone without human interaction for a total of 4 hours a day, i will happily appologise. And yet you won't consider working people as good pet owners. I think its about time you had a look at your adoption policies
