Woodfordes Brewery

Food was terrible - we had the special burger and the Yorkshire pudding stew - stew was okay, that was the best you could say for the whole meal. The drinks were overpriced, pub was cramped, it did look nice, but the MASSIVELY overpriced food ruined the experience and we won't be going back. The burger bun was broken and it went everywhere whilst trying to eat it. Pub chips are normally the best chips, but they were genuinely as bad as cheap oven chips. I would never go back unless it was for a sandwich as I'm sure they could manage a bit of bread and a bit of meat slapped on top - anything else, and it's way too much to ask.

Food was all very well cooked. Service was excellent considering the size of group (24 people). I would have preferred a more diverse selection of desserts but this was the Sunday set menu. Overall good little place where I may well visit again. Apologies for the pictures was hungry so no meals of full plates ;)

Great beers and good prices, the shop sells everything you need from a brewery from t-sirts to home brew.
Look out for the free brewery tours too.

It was some time ago that my wife and I visited Woodforde's when visiting family in East Anglia. At the time I was trying to visit as many small breweries around the UK as I could manage to better understand the beer styles served.

We went for dinner at the pub, and the food was good (not the standard, chain pubs that are taking over everywhere). The beer was great, and am only remiss in that I was able to work out the timing to go back for a tour of the brewery.

I had a beer, their Mild, that I liked so much that when I got home to the States I modeled a beer recipe on it and have brewed it many times since. I would love to go back to this pub and brewery next time I am out that way.
