Woodland Lakes Lodges

The place is tranquil , lodge was nice and warm for guests arriving , free little starter pack to get you going, plenty of relevant information, shop, cafe and restaurant at hand (best to take own convenience foods) take kids toys , can hire toys , books, dvds at a charge. Hot tub deffo a hit! Nice getaway and will visit again in future 😁😉

Cracking place for a break away. Lodges are nice. The one we stayed in could do with a bit of a attention in places. Clean enough though.

Didn't even know you got semi detached log cabins! 😁 still a great stay and the tub was just right. Nice carvery on site.. very nice😁

Yeah not a bad little drum. The lodges are good and the hot tubs work well. Phone signal around there isn't great, so I would suggest having WiFi in the lodges.

First time we've been here and will definitely be booking again loved it. The lodges are lovely and are nice to chill out in. The hot tub was great. My son and I love fishing and fished on most of the lakes and met some very friendly people. The tackle shop is well stocked up just in case you need anything. The food at the cafe and restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced the setting is lovely too and all the staff are very friendly but they could definatley do with some entertainment even a television with sky sports would be a plus and they would get more customers but really cannot wait to return 😃

Just returned from a 3 night weekend away staying at the Alder 4 VIP lodge.
What a fantastic time we had together (2 families of 4). Would highly recommend this lodge as it could only be a few months old so everything was immaculate and very well presented. Had a knock on the door with complimentary bathrobes & slippers, milk & bread! Loads of towels provided too.
The view is beautiful overlooking the lake but the Hot Tub made the break! Great size, maintained every morning & so much fun (the kids loved every second). We will definitely be booking again.

Nice setting, good lodge layout. We stayed in a two story lodge and it was nice but with some caveats. The first being only one shower in a lodge that sleeps 6 and the second is that the hot tub seemed to be half the width of the many others that I've used. Four people is a squeeze. Lastly, we arrived at 14:45 to be told that the lodge was ready, but if we wanted to check in before 16:00 it would cost us £20 for the privilege. Clearly we went off to the Old Red House pub further up the road until we could check in, and spend the money on some ale. This stuck in the craw somewhat if I'm honest as the lodges aren't cheap. So there's a star removed for that.

Nice place, bit out of the way. Some of the lodges are just fancy caravans but nice. Hot tubs are fun. There's an outdoor playground for small kids. Lot of ducks& geese (watch out for all the goose/duck poo)

Beautiful place amazing lodges and friendly staff all in a great location central to thirsk but lost in the countryside, will be back next year 100% this place is perfect! Onsite bar and restaurant with beautiful food went to cavery on Sunday and ate my monies worth :) new-year was great too with friendly neighbors and fireworks by the pub :) can't big this place up enough :D xxx

Arrived in darkness the lady was friendly that booked us in but didn't show us to our lodge we were given a drawing and left to find our own way which proved difficult as there was no outside light at our lodge as the bulb had gone
Once inside we were shocked to find all windows open and no heating on it was November and freezing it was a large lodge and took ages to heat through
Inside the lodge there was a well equipped kitchen area comfortable lounge area adequate bathroo. but not enough clean towels and only 1 loo roll for a long weekend stay but we were advised in manual we could buy extra at the on site shop
Bedroom had a large bed in a small space I now have bruises on both thighs were I bumped into it going to the loo in the night
Bedding was really poor summer quilt on in winter and poor quality
Never got chance to go in hottub because it rained from arriving and it didn't have a overhead cover
Surroundings were beautiful ducks came to your doorstep on a morning to be feed and also had a friendly cat that visited
Went for Sunday carvery that was great value in friendly surroundings
I must say everything that came from the kitchen looked delicious
Chef (arron )and barman (luke) really friendly and we're keen to help if possible I understand neither have been there long but we were very impressed with how friendly they both were

Fantastic stay at the poplar lodge. Great facilities. Hot tub was awesome however the temperature would fluctuate without any setting being changed. Will definately stay again
