Yesterday evening the staff from Woodley Gardens and Waingels Gardens attended an information evening delivered by Caroline from Wokinghams speech and Language team, surrounding PECS (picture exchange communication system) and intensive interactions. The information shared will help provide the knowledge and confidence that staff can put into practice to ensure we are meeting all children's needs and means of communication.

Come and see us at The Woodley Carnival, on Saturday 8th June. We will be promoting our Woodley Nurseries and fundraising for Bibs!

📸Your children's photos are ready to collect from the Nursery office 📸

📷📷 Please don’t forgot the professional photographer is coming into Nursery this Thursday 25th April. Please ensure you bring something for your child to wear if you wish for the photos and staff will change them when needed. If your child does not attend on a Thursday, you are still more than welcome to pop in and have them done, just let a member of staff know which time you will arrive. Photos will be done from 8:30am-12:00pm. Proof packs will then be handed to you once completed by the company and you can then choose wether you want to buy any of your child’s photos 📸📸

Thank you very much to Katherine, who came to Nursery to do some science experiments with the children in Lions during the Easter holidays. The children have been very interested in experimenting with things recently and they loved watching the water changing the colours from the skittles. Here are some of the things the children said whilst taking part and what they remembered about the activities-
"Its fizzing"
... "the water is dissolving it"
"We added water to the skittles in the tray and it made rainbow patterns, if you have the same colours together they will mix but if they are different they don't mix"

This is just a reminder that the Nursery will be closed for bank holidays on Friday 19th April and also Monday 22nd April 2019. We will re-open as normal from Tuesday 23rd April.
Please don't forget that this Thursday 18th April we have a stay and play EASTER morning if you would like to join us from 8:00-10:00am for breakfast and morning activities.

ITS WORLD BOOK DAY!! All children are welcome to dress up or bring in their favourite story from home to share with their friends 📚

CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL! We would like to congratulate Rachel Hunter- Acting Nursery Manager on gaining her LEVEL 4- EARLY YEARS ADVANCED PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATE. Rachel has worked extremely hard to gain this qualification, the aim of the Level 4 is develop a practitioners leaderships skills and also further develop other specialist skills within the childcare sector. Within The Forbury Group, staff are encouraged to complete additional qualifications to expand their knowledge and we find, doing this alongside staff's daily roles and responsibilities gives them the practice to reach their full potential. A huge Well done to Rachel!
