Happy Easter 🐣 The lambs in the field next to our Parks send you this spring time chorus 🐑

Our accommodation and pitches might have no guests in them, but it’s Spring so The Bugchester Hotel - part of our awesome EXplorer’s ranger activities area - is fully booked. #stayhome #protecttheNHS #savelives #Woolacombe #goodtimes #positivevibes

We may be empty but we’re still busy making sure the Parks look perfect when you can come back... cutting the grass on Good Friday? Absolutely unheard of, every pitch would normally be full. We miss you all. (this is Rudi’s son giving the touring area a trim) #stayhome #protecttheNHS #savelives #Woolacombe #goodtimes #positivevibes

It’s not a usual Good Friday here - the sun is beating down and the beach is almost empty with just a few locals on it. But you’ll be back soon and we’re so eager to have you back when the time is right. Thank you for staying home this Easter, we all appreciate it. #stayhome #protecttheNHS #savelives #Woolacombe #goodtimes #positivevibes

Thank you so much to the trauma team at NHS North Devon District Hospital to send us this lovely thank you for the Easter Eggs we delivered them. We hope you enjoy them guys, you deserve it!

We’re busy rebooking guests’ holidays at the moment and not doing a lot of marketing, so thank goodness there’s folks like Oscar (aged 10) who used Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks for his home school project. If you agree with him then give this post a LIKE and if you think he’s a budding marketeer of the future give the post a LOVE.

Max and Cosmin used our out of work refuse wagon to pick up some plastic pipe that had washed ashore in Woolacombe. Helping to do our bit for the environment and keep our area perfect ready for when our guests come back. #longingtobeback #goodtimes #woolacombe #positivevibes

This afternoon we sent Easter eggs, which were destined for our little guests over the Easter break, to the NHS workers at North Devon District Hospital. They’ll be shared among the amazing key workers, including all of the unsung heroes such as porters and cleaners, etc. We’d also like to say a massive thank you for their continued and unwavering care of our communities.
Stay safe, stay at home, protect the NHS.

**Information about refunds**
We have to process each card refund transaction manually and we will call you to do this. This must be to the exact same card that was originally used or to a replacement card in the same bank account. If you no longer have this account then our team will give you other options but these may take longer to process.
Once we have processed the refund and told you it has gone through it is leaving our bank account straight away, but it can take up t...o 10 days under normal circumstances for it to show on your bank statement.
However, we are hearing anecdotal reports that it is currently taking far longer than normal and we know that many banks are checking refunds in great depth in the usual way to comply with financial protection legislation. With the number of refunds nationally and a number of bank holidays coming up, this is likely to add further delay.
If you haven't received your refund on your bank statement after 10 working days of us telling you the refund has gone through, then please contact your bank in the first instance as they will be able to advise you of the progress through their system.
Refunds made to a different card to that originally used to make payment are being retrospectively declined by the banks so it's very important that the same card is used at the outset. Our systems do not record your card details other than the last four numbers which we can let you know to ensure it is the same card being used.
If you booked through a newspaper promotion like The Sun, we are able to refund the elements paid to us such as service charges, facilities wristbands, bed linen and upgrades as well as any other extras paid to us. When all the bookings on that arrival date are cancelled or moved, we can tell the newspaper promotions which bookings to refund for the initial amount which is held in their trust account as we don't receive the money until you've had your holiday. These are being done in batches and will be refunded in the same method that was originally used; these refunds too will be subject to the same sorts of delays we're seeing on refunds we're making.
We are able to offer our customers whose holidays have been affected a move to later date, and in the case of bookings made directly with Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks and not through a newspaper promotion, we can apply a credit to your customer account to be used on a future holiday which gives the opportunity for a far speedier resolution.
Unfortunately delays in card refunds are out of our control and we understand how frustrating it can be. We know it's not the news you want to hear but we think it's important to set the right expectation, regrettably it's not anything we or our team members have any control over.

LATEST UPDATE: 2nd April 2020
As you may be aware, we announced a temporary closure of our Parks from 23rd March to 16th April. Whilst we intended to restart the season on 17th April it has become clear that HM Government's review of their coronavirus suppression measures will not be released until the date we were planning to re-open.
For this reason, we have taken the decision to extend our temporary closure period until 30th April with a planned re-opening on Friday 1st Ma...y. We are sorry for the disappointment this will undoubtedly cause the many thousands of guests booked to stay with us in this period.
Understandably we're currently receiving a high volume of calls and messages, we apologise in advance for delays in our usual response times. Our priority us to assist customers with bookings in the order of their original start date, but we have to manually process every single booking amendment or refund individually; our dedicated team is working as hard as possible at this challenging time for everyone to make as rapid progress as possible and we appreciate your patience with this.
Due to essential social distancing measures we are contacting guests in arrival date order, so if your holiday is in the period up to 30th April please kindly wait to receive a communication directly from us to you laying out your options before contacting us - we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
We have quite a number of group bookings in this time and our team will in contact directly with the group organiser, so if you're part of a group booking it will be the person responsible for your booking who will contact you.
If your holiday is on or after 1st May, please kindly refrain from contacting us at this time so that we may assist those guests whose holiday is now affected by the temporary closure to 30th April.

Thinking ahead to calmer days, we’re all longing to be back!
For now we have a small number of team members handling phone calls and we’ve had to reduce our opening hours to 9am to 4pm Mon-Sat, closed on Sundays. They’re making great headway resolving everyone’s bookings but we’ve got literally thousands of affected guests, working their little socks off 🧦so we’d like to say “thank you” 🙏 for your patience at this challenging time for everyone.
It also means that our contact ...by responding to emails 📧, comments on social media posts and direct messages like on Facebook Messenger ✍️ are going to be far from our normal response times. We’re trying our best but it does mean prioritising guests with bookings soonest arrival dates 🗓 and so it means we might not be responding to comments like we normally do.
If your holiday is in the temporary closure period and you’ve had an email from us with your options on it, we’d kindly ask that you let us know your preference as soon as possible please, this means we can help you sooner 😊.
We’re getting a lot of questions about what happens after our current closure period, we’re trying our best to answer them but as we’re sure you can appreciate trying to give accurate answers when there’s lots of “what ifs” 🤔 is very difficult. We continue to monitor the situation and of anything changes we will be in contact by email directly to the lead booker on the holiday.
We’ll be contacting all our Summer Parking guests tomorrow with how we can help you at this time, we know you’ve been waiting whilst we navigate through new unknown territory 🏔.
Thanks for your patience, your kindness ❤️ and we hope you all stay safe.

The sunset over Woolacombe on the last day before British Summer Time. Now we have to wait an extra hour for sunset, but it’s ok ‘cos each hour is an hour closer to you being back here on holiday. #LongingToBeBack #woolacombe #goodtimes #summer #positivevibes

There’s been so many examples of folks going above and beyond in these challenging times, we’re supporting and encouraging the nation to clap for our carers at 8pm tonight.
