Woolaston Trout Fishery

Reminder to all we will be open every day off the bank holiday weekend
Today we graded out all our fish in the stock pond well over half of this have been stocked in today all weighing between 4-8lb including some lovely blues rainbows , golden and spartics, hopefully if we continue to get these good growth rates will have lots of doubles going when we next grade these out
We also had another stocking from Exmoor today of rainbows and blues
... (we have been told by few anglers they have been told by the same source we are going to change to a coarse fishery I would personally like to clear it up that I have no plans to change and I will continue as fly fishery for as long as I’m running the lakes ,Duane )

Well done michael who caught one of the tagged fish here yesterday and picking up the prize of £300 this is the second tagged fish caught with in Last month Michael caught this one on a blue flash damsel

Nice morning down here today, best flys seems to be dry flies and buzzers , we will be open every day over the bank holiday weekend , Lots of fish going in this week including some large fish out of our on-growing area

Lovely blue caught earlier this week we had fish stocked this Thursday ready for the weekend best flies still seems to be buzzers

Black buzzers seemed to have fished best here over the weekend with also few fish being taken on dries

Middle lake and bottom lake both stocked with rainbows and blues yesterday best flys were green buzzers and bloodworms

The spartics seems to be on the feed this last week the colours on this fish looking great best flies over past few days have been green buzzers with few fish also being caught on the top now the weather warming up we are stocking the lakes today

Hard days fishing today lots of fish rising but not much taking although most anglers managing to catch a few fish it wasn’t easy! best flies seem to have been damsel buzzers and egg flies

Been fishing well down here last few days damsels and buzzers catching best , bit more information on the tagged fish was caught on a buzzer being around the 7lb in weight , warming weather getting the fish rising and starting to get some fish caught of the top with shipmans buzzer working , slow start to the fishing today lots of fish rising but not sure what they are taking at the moment

Good days fishing today all sort caught we had rainbows blues and Spartics out with good few larger fish caught around 6lb

We took the children aged 7 and 9 to teach them how to trout fish. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and encouraging. The cheese burgers were great and we caught loads. A wonderful family day out. Thoroughly recommend it.

Very friendly and helpful. The bacon sandwiches smelled amazing as well!

Thanks for excellent Friday. My friend caught two trout on flies in first time in his life and he was very excited. Thank you for taste breakfast. See you soon again.

Great place to fish, friendly atmosphere and easy access. Good shop and facilities.

Great day fishing, friendly staff, 10 good fighting rainbow trout caught, green damsel seemed to do the trick, thank you

First visit to Woolaston, it was great. Beautiful surroundings and the 1 fish I had fought really well. Only fished the top lake because I'm a bit of a newbie at this but will definitely be making regular visits.

First time fishing here yesterday and we had a great day. They were extremely helpful. We were catching all day on a variety of flies. Very healthy, hard fighting fish. Had a mix of golden, rainbows and a brownie. Will definitely be coming back.

First time at the fishery this morning

The fishery manager was very helpful loads of fish in the lake he told us but hard to catch

I filled my bag with 25lbs in weight

What a great place can't wait to go again

Brilliant day day today caught 70 fish before one o clock and every fish fought just as hard as the last , credit to woolaston trout fishery

Beautiful place. A lovely place to spend a day fishing.

Amazing place grounds are kept really nice plenty of parking 3 Great Lakes and the staff are brilliant I took my 4 year old brother he caught his first trout on the fly, and the fish are in very very good condition. I would recommend this place to anybody 100% going back.

Absoloutly cracking place to fish, brilliant views and the fish fight like they are on steriods! The guys who run the place are brilliant and try to help out with anything from gear to tips on where to catch on the lakes, recommend to anyone beginner or expert!

A great venue with varied tactics working, unlike many small waters where one method stands out a mile. Can't wait to get back there! (Y)
