User

Thank you SO much to everybody here for making our wedding reception exactly as we wanted! The staff are all great and the food is too! It went smoothly and everyone had the best time!

User

Our little writing group couldn't have felt more welcome on Saturday, thank you - your staff are so nice. Great food at very reasonable prices and great wines and ales too. Love the decor and the sense of place in this building. And we got some writing done too.

User

Massive thank you for all your hard work making our wedding reception so special today.

It was such a wonderful event and that’s largely down to having such a stunning venue, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere.

We’re thrilled that all our family and friends enjoyed the food so much and ambience created by your team at the Woolwich Equitable made everyone feel comfy and relaxed.

We will certainly think of you when our family have big celebrations in the future.

It was fab. We really couldn’t have asked for more.

User

Mad pud, awesome bands sometimes, wonderful venue. Food too slow and expensive - although good. Friendly staff. A wonderful mixture of people coming there. Can be an amazing night with the right performers. Need a dance space always - and there rarely is.

User

Lovely little pub, I remember going in here with my mum when I was a kid when it was a building society lol, busy but good staff and even though it was busy didn't take long to get served.

User

It was an absolute pleasure for STARDUST. to play at The Woolwich Equitable bar last night. They have live music every Friday and Saturday, plenty of seating, although they had to clear an area for all the people who wanted to dance to us! Friendly bar staff who know their music (we were serenaded by Joy Division, Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, Elvis Costello, Velvet Underground and Iggy Pop as we were packing up!). It's opposite Woolwich Arsenal Station (National Rail & Docklands) and well served by bus. If you love live music please support this great venue.

User

I love this quirky bar. Fantastically helpful bar staff. Great food and mostly good entertainment. Just one gripe that I feel needs attention - the ladies toilets! Very poor decoration, no hooks on the back of doors (no one wants to put their bag on a wet floor). Doors that clash as they go too far back. If the person next to you leaves the door open you can't open your own door (ive experienced this), They need a total revamp so women aren't put off from spending time there. ☺

User

I love the Woolwich Equitable, we’ve never had a bad afternoon/evening/Sunday roast there. The interior is beautiful and feels a far cry from being a modern pub venue in the middle of Woolwich.

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday there with a private party on the balcony (and an areas downstairs) and we all had a brilliant time! Robert, the manager, was extremely helpful during the planning and he ensured everything ran smoothly on the night.

I decorated the balcony area and turned it into a 1920’s speakeasy, where 80 of us partied into the night. I ordered food platters - which were absolutely delicious - and the guests kept the bar staff busy.

If you’re looking for a ‘different’ venue to hold a private event then I’d highly recommend the WE. The feedback I’ve had from my friends has been great, a lot of them had never been there before but have said they’d definitely go back

User

I have had the pleasure of drinking & eating here a few times, when I organised my games group monthly weekend event at the Woolwich Equitable (after our usual venue couldn't guarantee our bookings of late).

On both of the days we have held events here, we have experienced nothing short of fantastic service, as well as had the choice from a large selection of drinks & extremely palatable food.

I highly recommend you pop in for a drink and/or a bite to eat with Dave & the gang when you are next in the area.

User

Great pub bit pricey but worth it nice chilled place to go for a few pints on a Friday night .not to busy just nice.

User

Fantastic bar. I love that they have love music which seems to be a rarity in pubs these days. All the bands we've seen there have been excellent and had everyone up dancing.

We've had some of the bar food - pick and mix nibbles and it's been very nice. I recommend the Frickles - fried pickles - just remember to ask for some ranch sauce with them.

User

Best place we have been to in a while great staff great food venue is fabulous and the most important thing excellent customer service. I'd definitely recommend a visit

User

A great pub to chill out in and have a beer after work..

User

It's easy, staff are polite and happy to help - nothing is too much trouble. Prices on par with other bars etc in the area. There's live music and it's a prime location with seating outside if there's an event in General Gordon Square or just sitting out when the weathers nice watching the world go by. Food is good too:)

User

Good food , good staff , nice place to chill with friends

User

Friendly with nice people, good music on a Friday and Saturday nights. A very good choice of drinks from tea/coffee to top of the range spirits.

User

Love what the Equitable is trying to achieve and should be a great addition to the area.

But first impressions are important, and you only get one chance to make a first one. And regardless of premises and clientele, quality of staff remain a major determining factor.

So, some advice,

1. please learn how to pull a pint of Murphy's, you don't just fill like a pint of ale and slap it on the bar counter, it must rest and settle for a couple of

minutes before being topped up.

2. if the beer is off and a technician has been called, maybe consider stop serving it,

3. don't slam the fridge door like a petulant teenager when asked for something else instead.

Call me old school, but it takes more than a little facial hair to being a good barman.

Verdict? Could be great, but will never fulfil its potential with this attitude and ambivalence towards the customer experience. Must try harder. .

User

Great vibe, friendly staff BUT rather aggressive mice and when we mentioned it to the staff, they said it was the cold weather but if you read the reviews it's been an issue or awhile. It's not any where near hygienic to eat in a place where the mice run in the dining room openly.

User
