Worcestershire Lit Fest & Fringe Description

The Worcestershire Literary Festival from LitFest & Fringe takes place every June and encompass the following:

• Spoken word performances.
• Author interviews and Q& A's.
• Workshops.
• Open mic sessions.
• Competitions.
• Book signings.
• Children’s events and activities.
• Music that tells a story.

plus much more.

We appointing the Worcestershire Poet Laureate on the launch night and the festival will finish with the Worcestershire Poetry Slam Championship on the final night of the festival.

What are the aims of the Worcestershire LitFest & Fringe?

We aim to develop and support a wide range of literary activities and events, encompassing many venues in the city of Worcester and the county of Worcestershire.

We are continually developing a number of key strategic partnership agreements with local and regional literature organisations, publishers and other organisations such as The Hive, Arts Council England, Writing West Midlands, Worcestershire County Council, Worcester City Council and hope to enhance these relationships and develop many more in the future.

We aim to deliver literary seminars, workshops, events, readings, music that tells a story and various bespoke projects not just during the Festival itself but leading up to the festival and beyond.

We can't wait until we cut the ribbon and open our first ever LitFest hub, thanks to Participate In Art! The Old Pheasant in Worcester city centre will be transformed into an art gallery and information point which will be open from Tuesday 10th June until the end of the festival, with books, art and spoken word all waiting to be enjoyed!
