Work Experience Network (Wen) Description
The Work Experience Network actively supports employers and young people with the provision of work experience opportunities in UK communities.
Through its educational programs, seminars with employers and community involvement, the WEN cascades the message of the importance of work experience and its tangible benefits to young people, business, community and the UK economy.
The WEN encourages Community cohesion based upon the principle that everyone regardless of their religious persuasion seek to become financially self sufficient through employment or business opportunities.
Self-sufficiency as a goal rather than reliance on the state is a founding principle of the WEN. Through successful work experience placements the WEN seeks to prompt young people to consider future careers and academic choices and aims to instill a work ethic into young people to enable them to contribute to the UK economy.
The WEN actively promotes charitable behavior by members of UK communities. The WEN functions with the support of ‘Patrons’ who provide or help initiate work experience opportunities.
