#ThrowbackThursday from our photo archives: these two sloth bear cubs were poached from the wild and were destined for a life of dancing in Orissa, India. Member society WTI and World Animal Protection confiscated the two month old cubs during an undercover operation in January 2011.

Brexit presents risk, opportunities and threats to the UK’s existing farm animal welfare standards. While it is reassuring to hear Michael Gove confirm the UK should continue to take a global lead on improving welfare conditions for farm animals, continued uncertainty on animal sentience, payments for farmers and trade deals with lower animal welfare standards is concerning.

These shocking photos show how #GhostGear is affecting our beautiful coasts and putting marine life at risk.
Our #SeaChange campaign is helping turn the tide on plastic pollution 🌊

This organisation is superb and they need your support too!

We see many unsettling and upsetting pictures and videos on fbook regarding the cruelty and torture of innocent dogs crammed in tight cages and dragged up to be burnt alive so their meat is tenderised as their adrenalin of fear kicks in to their bodies. Horrific, fear we never even want to think about that these dear innocent dogs go through to their torturous end! All in the name of the Dog Meat Trade in Korea, Thailand etc etc........

This charity does their upmost to rescue such dogs, dogs that are even people's pets that have been stolen. They are a wonderful charity and do make an impact but only with our help!

Please make a monthly donation if you can. These dogs are begging us for our help.

This charity also fights for many many other causes where animal cruelty takes place on a daily basis. Donkeys heavily laden with loads they cannot carry with injuries to their legs and just not looked after. Bears that are rescued from being tied up with claws removed whilst vicious dogs attack them for entertainment.

This charity is working so hard with bears suffering now and being used in the bear bile trade where bile is extracted painfully from bears kept in cages no bigger than themselves. It is horrificn painful for these bears and they need our help.

Please dont turn away from donating and give what you can or consider leaving a legacy too them in your will. They need our help now xxx

This is great, a charity I can truly get behind, I understand the vegan philosophy and respect their decision however they should respect that I, as well as many other people are omnivores, just the same as you wouldn't expect a lion or tiger to eat a vegan diet. I believe that we can far and eat animals at the same time as raising quality of life for them and raising welfare standards, I personally keep rabbits and horses as pets, however I would also eat rabbit and horses, this charity backs the idea that you can eat meat but also care for animals.

User

Thank you for what you do,animals need all the help & support they can now that people think they can use & abuse them as they please x

Love the wonderful selfless work WAP does around the world to help all creatures and raise awareness of their "terrible plight" in many cases. They also take action accordingly. Thankyou for your work.

User

It's great to see some real action happening to much needed cases. As long as I have money you have my support.

Is there anything that can be done about this disgusting woman ( Farida Khans ) beating her horse? her facebook page fully endorses beating her horses and she admits that she beats her horses and gets pleasure seeing them suffer underneath her (her words) I could not even continue to look at her page as i was horrified. something has to be done!!!! she CANNOT be allowed to get away with such cruelty!!!

Inhumane treatment of animals has become a way of life in many parts of the world, organisations like the WSPA need the necessary push to stop all forms of animal welfare breaches. Keep it up WSPA!

I have been a supporter for decades. Animals worldwide need support and awareness campaigns work to show people, what goes on especially as a tourist what attractions to avoid, e.g. Horse drawn carriages, elephants carrying tourists, whales or dolphins in captivity, bears being tortured for photos, the list goes on sadly and it is 2016

User

Amazing charity, one of the best who will always have my support and monthly donations. Thank you for every animals life that you save.

User

All for animals

User

Absolutely love the work these guys do. Thank you for all your hard work and I really hope more animal cruelty will end in 2018.

User

A worthy cause we could all help. They accept one off donations if you can't afford monthly payments, every little helps - Thank you.

User

There are many worthy animals and those helping are a very good and wonderful people indeed I have no means to donate but I will definitely spread the word to every one and get them to help as we can

User

It's a shame to see an organisation that should be dedicated to protecting animals advocating abuse. Why they don't make an actual stand for animals is beyond me. Drop the hypocrisy go vegan.

User

How can you be promoting cows milk, the Dairy industry is one of the cruellest.!! Go vegan, reject violence!
