WRc have been proud to have supported Macmillan Cancer Support for the past two years, hosting numerous events throughout the year to raise funds to go towards the emotional, physical and financial support Macmillan provides to those facing and living with cancer. WRc yesterday were delighted to present Macmillan with the £11,010 raised by our charity team to go towards the amazing and essential work that they do.

Each month WRc has a staff briefing to discuss progress, developments, welcome new team members etc over a delicious lunch, but importantly it brings everyone from all parts of our business together. It is a great opportunity to share our successes and events worthy of note. Today our CEO @Mark Smith shared with us the extra lengths three members of our Infrastructure team went to in recent weeks. Our teams are on the road daily working across the UK (keep an eye out for our vans!) helping to support our water networks. However, in the past month Johnny White, Brad Weston and Scott Canniford have all found themselves going over and above assisting members of the public in road traffic accidents they have been witness to. A huge thanks to them for their help and assistance, WRc are very proud to have such caring staff.

Today WRc are celebrating the Wimbledon Womens semi-final and raising money at the same time for the wonderful work done by Macmillan Cancer Support by indulging ourselves with strawberries and cream.

We at WRc do love cakes, and we especially love cakes when they are made to raise money for a good cause. Today we held a "Royal Wedding Bake Off" to raise money for the wonderful work that Macmillan Cancer Support do and to celebrate Harry and Megan's wedding this weekend! So many to choose from and absolutely delicious!

Our community of Mental Health First Aiders came together with their MHFA instructor James Maher for the first time since their original training in December.
Whilst together, they shared their experiences of being a Mental Health First Aider so far, providing insights, hints, tips & support for each other. They also identified a number of exciting and innovative areas in which we can move forwards in promoting a mentally healthy workplace and how their role can enable this.
