Ws Training Supported Learning Centre

Our Supported Learning Centre provides high quality learning pathways for young people aged 16-24 with Special Educational Needs, or barriers to learning.

Students are allocated one of six pathways within our centre.

Leadership; Aim: to support and monitor the success of the other Student Business Enterprise Departments.
Garden Shop; Aim: to display and sell seasonal products from ‘Genesis Garden’ and handmade items.
Central Café; Aim: to serve customers a range of refreshments and provide a relaxed and well maintained dining area.
Productions; Aim: to organise and promote theatrical events, showcasing talents and dramatic ability.
Create; Aim: to create seasonal products to sell at events.
Placements; Aim: to give experience in the workplace in a range of settings.

Throughout all pathways, learners have an insight of real life working practices and experiences. Maths and English is embedded naturally, including differentiated bespoke sessions. Main aim qualifications are holistically assessed through formative and summative assessments. Opportunities are given to explore career options and advice through reviewing performance. Promotion of conduct, social skills, professionalism and employability skills through each activity is essential and reflected in units selected. Learners review their progress, relating to potential future opportunities, involving external agencies to match their progression. Information and advice naturally occurs throughout this process via reviews, monitoring of behaviour, mental health and transition.
