Wta Dance Academy Description
The Wright Theatre Arts Dance Academy provides a high standard of training
in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, character, historical dance and theatre techniques,
as well as Boys Zone, which specifically targets boys from the age of 7 + .
All dance classes are taught with a sense of fun and enjoyment, whilst at the
same time encouraging every pupil to reach their full potential whatever their
ability.
The Academy is based in Ilkley and Ben Rhydding in three different centres
which all have sprung floors, barres and changing areas. We offer a warm
welcome to all pupils and their families; parents are encouraged to have a
drink and a chat in our parents waiting area whilst the classes are in progress.
The School has it's own dancewear shop that stocks all uniform requirements
as well as a wide range of non-uniform dancewear and equipment.

After a few tech problems we finally managed to give an exercise class on zoom! Thank you to all who logged on, we had a lot of fun and hope you enjoyed it too! Watch this space for more to come! Links will be posted on here for those that don't recieve emails!
Well, day one of filming was an absolute disaster, Lynne and I are definitely not naturals at this, a lot of laughing happened! So, instead of wasting time trying to record work we have put together a timetable of classes which will be streamed live for all our students to partake in, along with anyone else who wants to join. Keep checking your emails for the proposed timetable and let us know your thoughts.
Bollywood ladies get ready for your online videos, let me know if you want me to develop the dance we started last term and never finished, or if you would like a different one, or even if you have a particular song in mind! Would you like the videos to feature the warm up and maybe a couple of exercises like in class, or just a routine? Open to suggestions! Also thinking of doing a beginners class as well, so message if you're interested :)
Would any of our leavers who did tap fancy some videos? Thinking I could do the gold work for you and maybe you could eventually take the exam so you have all the awards, or at least have some fun and a challenge whilst in isolation. Let me know :)
Thinking of all our students today as schools are cancelled. For all those potentially leaving Primary school or Grammar school for the last time, too soon without all their friends there, without the prom or traditional shirt signing, or taking the exams they've worked so hard for, our thoughts are with the class of 2020! Sending all our love from your family here at WTA ❤🧡💚
We are really sad to announce that baby bop is cancelled for the time being, due to high numbers of babies being brought by pregnant mums or grandparents. We will keep you all informed as soon as classes return to normal.
We are asking that all students and parents (at baby bop) please thoroughly wash their hands before and after class, many thanks.
