Wyke Methodist Church

We are now feeling full of the Christmas spirit after our cafe carol service this afternoon led by Junior Church. We sang lots of our favourite carols, watched the children’s nativity and Christmas sketches, had some moments of reflection and took part in a Christmas craft session whilst enjoying some festive refreshments. Well done to all of our fabulous children and thank you to everyone who organised such a lovely afternoon.

After our Christmas fair yesterday, our preschoolers have started learning about the nativity again. We found out how the Angel Gabriel visited Mary and we made some angels for our display.

The countdown is on!

Our toddler group today heard the story of Jonah and the Whale and made cups to represent the whale catching Jonah. Our older children heard the parable of the talents and then, reluctantly, shared their talents!

Last Sunday, we remembered John Wesley (the founder of the Methodist Church) in our cafe service. The congregation enjoyed a quiz as part of the service and the children took part in crafts and activities to think more about our church community and sharing the word.

Happy anniversary to our Junior Church today. We had a special family communion service to celebrate today and a presentation for our children. We send all our best wishes to our Junior Church attendees, past and present.

Happy Easter from everyone at Wyke Methodist Church. Our toddlers have been learning about the story of Easter; they created their own empty tombs, ‘grow with Jesus’ plants and found out why we have Easter eggs.
He is risen! Alleluia!

Our toddlers had lots of fun at Junior Church today learning about Zacchaeus. We had a small world play, snack time themed around the story and crafts.

Thank you to everyone who came to our fair today and supported us. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and found some great gifts and goodies.

Just one week to go!

Last weekend, we celebrated our Junior Church anniversary with our ever-growing number of children. We had a lovely cafe service arranged by our Junior Church around the theme of Noah with a play from the children, a craft and lots of lovely uplifting hymns and songs.

Today in Junior Church, our children continued the theme of Palm Sunday by making their very own donkey, colouring in palm leaves, listening to the story of the Last Supper and waving palm crosses.
