We are back! Open as usual from today.

Well folks its that time of year again when we shut shop and recharge our batteries in the sun. Y Pas will be closed for 2 weeks from 25th July reopening on Tuesday 8th August. Did you know that our little chip shop was named one of the five best fish & chips in the UK? The author Mark Petrou writes "the shop is still a humble little cabin but, trust me, it has absolutely everything you would hope to find in chip shop heaven" Y-Pas the little chippy with the big reputation!!!

Well, I have been struggling to find a good fish and chip shop.

I will not be looking any longer.

-Great service

- beautifully cooked moist fish

- proper chips.

Well we pulled up after a long drive & could see 3 whippets tied up outside so thought this must be a Reet Yorksha chippy...

After waiting quietly in the que the elderly chap that wur busy frying away asked wot we was avvin??

Told him we were after 5 of his finest F&C, well his eyes lit up,

Comin reet oop laad, wur his reply

The young Michele Pfifer look alike asked if we were avin peas loov??

& we did...

The speed of service & friendly atmosphere were outstanding, as was the food absolutely fantastic.

Was a very busy wee shop with a great reputation.

Got speaking to one customer & he said"ave been coomin eer 25 years man & boy & they just keep gettn better an better"

With that he popped on his cap & took his whippets off tit bookies..,

I like fish and chips and enjoy them all over the country but fish and chips is best on our door step. No matter how good the fish and chips are we always say it's not quite Y-Pass standard. When in barnsley Y-Pass is ALWAYS our first choice!

Don't know if they are the cheapest or most expensive fish and chips in town. But they are quality and that's what makes them value for money.

Chunky fish and tasty batter, generous portion sizes and mushy peas just how I like them with peas in and not just mush. Highly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous food !

I came into the chippy today fo a portion of chips for my grandson I am really disgusted at the suze of the portion for ┬Ż1.20 I couldn't believe it there was 23 chips and half of them were very scrappy talk about extortion

Not happy with the service or portion size today what so ever. Came in to get a meal for 3 people..asked for a large chips and got scabs..it's rediculas the chips were shared out in the shop into baby portions what wouldn't even fill a baby!..your shop is over priced and I'm disgusted I really am..I will be using cod fathers next time because they give portions out properly and not rationed
